It will grow, and fast. Mind you the local melon are all on sale here on the roadside, so we are well into melon season.

Chris, We are about 2 weeks until prime melon season here, and I didn't have good luck on my first plants, so I'd be happy with just about anything at this point.

Yep, I agree that is rather small - we have huge things over here - they even sell cool juicy slices on the city streets for weary passers by. A great idea for a quick pick-me-up when the going gets hot!

This is a mini var. of watermelon, called "Ice Box" they are supposed to be about 6-8 inches and weigh about 3 lbs. It should take about 2 weeks to get that size of course. I just don't have the space for one of those gigantic 40 lb melons like they sell in the stores.
