I bought mine bare root Leigh, they're sent out winter time and establish really well that way, you can grow them from hardwood cuttings taken autumn/winter time but it'll be the following spring before roots develope, I'll put myself a reminder and send you some autumn time if you'd like?,I usually cut mine back a bit then to prevent wind rock so the bits I cut off only go in the bin, its really easy, you just put them in a pot of compost, outsides fine or even in a shallow trench somewhere in the garden, you'll know if they've rooted when they start to grow leaves the following spring but its best to leave till the following autumn to move where you want them :-))

ive been trying to tell you for a few days now kathy but get sidetracked by more photos lol, i got the d.aust. catalogue the other day after you told me about the website.
OMG! you were right lol, i must say i only really like the pink and red roses, here are a few i love the gentle hermoine and queen of sweden i cant really tell much difference-with darker pink getting paler outwards, pink queen ann id like to get for my mum in-law(called ann lol) at some point and the white william and catherine for my late dad in-law and sis in-law also same names!
i think the thing i didnt like about roses were the stems and thorns but you can get thornless ones cant you so thats good lol.
love the climbing ones i think i will buy eventually to grow on the front of the house maybe red etoile de hollande clg. i like the leaves on that one.
well thankyou v.much for letting me see what i was missing out on i will now say im a fan of pink and red roses!! :o))
