Female Tiger Swallowtail

This is the standard yellow Tiger Swallowtail. The blue on her hindwings makes her a female. She loves the pink Verbenia in my garden and kept coming back to it time and time again today.

thanks for the info on determining the sex of the butterfly...I realize from looking at your photo that the Tiger Swallowtail that visited my garden must have experienced bad weather or was perhaps ending a long migratory flight...It was missing part of the tail on one of it's wings and seemed very hungry...stayed a good while so I could run get my camera...for that I was grateful. they are a wonder.
