growing well, but hasn't bloomed yet. Easter cactus is most difficult from what I've read, (after the purchase) but I love the star blooms. Any ideas?

I wish that I could get mine to bloom also. I have a huge Easter/Spring cactus that is almost 10 years old and it has never bloomed for me. Sounds like Chezs is taliking about Christmas cactus. I have several and I do exactly as he does and they bloom like crazy around the end of November into the begining of December. There is a difference in the leaves between the two. Easter/Spring cactus have oval leaves and the flowers look like trumpets. Christmas/Holiday cactus have points on the leaves and the flowers are elongated. From your photo Greenthumb your plant is definitly an easter/Spring cactus. They are suppose to set buds at the end of february and then be in full bloom around the end of march into early April. I have tried everything to get mine to bloom and it just wont do it. My Christmas/Holiday cactus sometimes bloom twice a year.

leave it in the dark. (a root cellar or dark closet) bring it out just as the days are starting the lengthen...(late Feb...early March...) water give it as much light as possible and cross your fingers...lol.
