Fritillaria imperialis 'Rubra' - never grown these before and can't wait for it to flower - but snow is forecast this weekend, so thought I better record it just in case.

It survived some of the recent rubbish weather, although I'm now supporting it with some twigs - I was getting a little worried until I read my own notes that it is quite common for them not to flower in their first year - the two behind it show no signs of flowering - so, I should be heartened by the fact that if this one flowers that's an unexpected bonus and that next year is the time when I have a right to expect a show.
See who else is growing Fritillaria imperalis (Crown imperial).
See who else has plants in genus Fritillaria.
