Caught 7 beetles yesterday on the Fritillaria Imperialis

Just bought a new camera that can take better pics than my old one and I was trying it out on my plants

oooohhhhh this is lovely, such detail in your pic to.

I am definitely atting Fritillaria to my plant wish list.

I have never seen this plant before. They do very much look like snake heads grouped together, Very neat! You are an amazing photographer!

It survived some of the recent rubbish weather, although I'm now supporting it with some twigs - I was getting a little worried until I read my own notes that it is quite common for them not to flower in their first year - the two behind it show no signs of flowering - so, I should be heartened by the fact that if this one flowers that's an unexpected bonus and that next year is the time when I have a right to expect a show.

These are so unusual looking, I've always wanted to try them. I love anything out of the ordinary.!

it is such a pain is'nt it. your Fritillaria, look really good fingers cross you'll be able to include some pics when it's in full bloom.

Fritillaria meleagris is my personal favourite flower, Buzzbee. I haven't had these for years now, though, as they really look their happiest in the setting you've given them. Brilliant!

I've just planted a new Coprosma - I shall have to put a cloche over it!

Our poor plants dont know what is happening to them either lol

I know Janette - today has felt like summer at times it's been so warm, but it's all change come the weekend according to the forecast.

If Frits always need a damp spot that might explain my lack of success. There are no damp spots in my garden. At least yours exist Andrew, mine just did not appear.
