Marges garden club part 2.

Marges garden club part 2.

The Radio Leeds Gardener, Joe Maiden, said he had just received an award for Services to Gardening in the North (of England). Isn’t that wonderful.

I asked him a question about planting fruit bushes in containers at the rear of our garage, he suggested we needed to use something with the depth of a plastic dustbin. Planting : Raspberries, Autum Bliss or Old Goldor Blue berries. This is a north facing area that gets lots of bright sunlight.

He recommended we use pelletted sheep droppings to add something to our compost (which, in true Yorkshire fashion – they like spending money less than the Scots) he was selling for £5.00 per carrier bag full ! Who could resist a bargain like that ? I can’t believe I have just bought a bag of sheep s—t fo a £5. It may be a while before my husband comes on a night out with me again.

Love Marge.

Hi Dottydaisy, been having a look at your photos, you live in a lovely part.

You garden looks great.

Yes, it was a big carrier full - but rather smelly, although we had been assured it did not have a smell. Been listening to Joe Maiden on the radio (radio Leeds) this morning.

Happy gardening. Marge.
