Hi, I am Marge, I blundered into this site by accident, but it’s great, seeing all your photos and write ups. I retired last Dec., and we have created a Herb bed in the front garden and a veggie bed at the back. I was very successful with my lettuice and tomatos, but lost out to the slugs, snails and caterpillers in the summer.
But at least we know what was worth doing and what wasn’t. Busy looking at the Catalogues to see what seed to order.
I have never been good with a camera, but guess I shall have to try, then I can show you what I have done.
There are plans in hand to grow fruit bushes at the rear of the garage, in containers – it’s North facing but very bright, will maybe have room for 5 or 6. Any suggestions anyone ???

Hi Marge. Wlcome to GOY. This is a very helpful site, and it's really interesting to see what we can all grow in different parts of the world. Sometimes the plants from halfway round the world are similar and sometimes very different.

hi marge, welcome to this wonderful site.there is an amazing depth of knowledge here and it's very friendly.
we had a blackcurrant bush in a pot but it didn't do very well so i gave it to a neighbour who had room for it in her fruit garden. grown all our fruit in the ground, but if you had a really big pot , maybe the bushes would be ok. someone on here will know!!!............steve

Hello Marge.
Welcome to GoY.
We are a friendly bunch.
So you've been having trouble with slugs and snails.
That means you've straight away got lots in common with almost everyone else on GoY.
Looking forward to your photos.
I'm rather slow in uploading pictures.
I did manage a ninth photo this evening. :o)
best wishes, Terratoonie.
