The hard bit is over..or is it??

Well folks, it has taken blod sweat and tears…ok I exagerate..it has taken hours of digging and a very sore back…but the veg plot is now complete yee hah!! I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to my pal Ally who came up with the plan of terracing the slope so I now have 3 flat beds to work in, and who miraculously “found” all the bits and bobs required for the framework. needless to say being a bit of a perfectionist we ended up working in the dark and rain last last night to get the job done…headtorches come in handy for more things than just camping…which reminds me I need to get more batteries..it got a bit dim after an hour!!
The gravel and slabs are laid out the back, and tho I have never laid a slab in my puff before I think it looks like a damn fine splendid job. I am hoping that I can now just sit back and let things do as nature intended, just as asoon as I have worked out what veg is going where and planting them…the fun part?? Or is that the eating later on??? Off to buy some apple trees now..for the previously suggested home made cider hic!!!

This looks fantastic - you've done a very good job here. The terracing was certainly a wonderful idea.

I love your terracing, loads of space for veggies etc. it looks like you already have a good patch of rubarb? at the bottom of the slope - so maybe rubarb wine before the apple trees are big enough for cider production?

Dont think of the garden as a depressing empty patch - its a blank canvas just waiting to be tinkered with!!

Wey Hey! Looks brilliant and I bet your neighbours will soon be copying you ....... or hiring you to do it for them!

Wish I could get someone to do something similar in my FLAT garden. Will just have to make do with my large pots and tubs.

Once again - - - brilliant!

Wow! I am impressed, working in the garden at dark, 'ey? That's one verrrrry dedicated gardener! Looks great, love the tiered effect.

We used to have a very steep garden. Luckily it had been tiered into 3 levels, altho' we had some walls built to accentuate it a bit more, which was great when it came to pruning plants etc too!

Keep us updated with what you do! ttfn!
