This had been thrown out on a rubbish pile by someone half dead in a pot , it was very tiny and half dead , I rescued it , it is huge now and for the first time has these flower things on it , i,m not sure what it is called ...

Definitely a Cordyline....you'll get white flowers soon and then berries that the birds love.
