Mike C's Blog (11)

The weather improved this afternoon and I went back out to do more. I thought about some broken pieces of cement slabs that the previous ower had dumped behind the garage and decided to use those along with some other rocks that I had around. I did some plantings around the pond and now I will fine tune the rocks and plants as time goes on.

In the ground, ready for rocks and plants.

Rocks added.

The pond looks absolutely lovely Mike.
The large stones and boulders soften the edge beautifully.
Glad the weather improved for you to continue with the project.

Thank you Poppy and Grenville. A friend stopped by a while ago and she said that it looks like it's always been there. I keep walking up to my window over my kitchen sink to look at it. Now I'm very anxious for all the plants to grow. I think that it will really soften the rocks.

What a difference a day (and a keen gardener) makes!
That looks great, Mike, and it won't be long before the plants have done their stuff to make it look well established.
Time to pour yourself a glass and reflect on a job well done :-D

Whoaaa....Mike. You sure don't waste time. up and running in a weekend! I salute you, sir!!
It looks really good, REALLY GOOD! Always waiting for something though, aren't we? The plants will fill in and you'll be tweaking and tuning, such fun. I see iris, and lamb's ears...what else?

The following are what I have planted around the pond. What looks like Lambs Ear are white Rose campion and I have 4 clumps of Creeping Sedum. 4 or 5 different color Daylilies, 3 clumps of Garden Flox. 2 Purple Cone Flowers and 3 Veronica. I want to plant some Crocus and daff bulbs this fall.
