British Birds

If you enjoy bird songs in your garden or parks but wondered what birds they are or you don’t recognise a new visitor you can log on the PSPB web site (url below) to watch and listen to nearly every British bird. I thoroughly recommend this site as both enjoyable and educational.

Thanks, Ams - useful! I know there are CDs out there, too - I keep meaning to look for one, as I'm not good at bird song, apart from the very common ones. :-(

Went to this site and it caused chaos in my home! Poppy, my little lovebird went wild responding to the bird song, jumping all around the cage and 'singing' in response. It was great, thanks Ams, especially from Poppy :)

Well done folks, better than watching something dumb on TV. Oh Hywel, I am so sorry you cannot enjoy our little fluffy friends - I blame Alfred Hitchcock ;-(
Glad you liked the call of the wild Poppy.

I have been short changed by my resident blackbird, although I have been feeding him and his off spring all year all I get in return is a horrible shrill chirp at dusk. They are noted as one of our best song birds.

Sorry about that Ams...we have about six males all vying for territory.Theres a loud trilling singing competition, then they dive bomb each other.! This goes on at intervals throughout the day ! lol

Thanks for the links Ams. It will be interesting to compare some of your bird songs to some of ours.
