25 Jul, 2012

Looks to be coming along nicely Yorks, lovely colour. Like the Rose going up the house and the clematis. The one with wrong label looks a bit like Sieboldi to me, but everything looking cheerful now.

25 Jul, 2012

sticki, the side with the Hydrangea is the other side of the front garden, and where the double planter is, is the other side, the driveway splits the front up.

25 Jul, 2012

thanks Cinders, I know you are right now about the clematis, it should have been bright pink,

25 Jul, 2012

Bit like me, the one I put on my arch should have been red, but is an insipid pink, not what I wanted there at all.

25 Jul, 2012

what's the name of the yellow rockery plant Cinders

25 Jul, 2012

Lol, I have a postbox red continental geranium labelled as being white when I bought it as a plug plant, stuck out like a sore thumb in the hanging basket that year! Now a favourite, they can growl on you :-)

That's a lovely Hydrangea in the creamy coloured pot and the clematis is pretty despite it being wrongly labelled.

25 Jul, 2012

Only two weeks ago,you were in despair about your garden,Val..see? it has come into its own now..and looking lovely..that pink climbing rose is huge!...and your Begonias are much bigger than mine in your wall planters..really nice :o)

Nature, with a lot of help from you has a way of repairing itself and how lovely your garden looks now. It is good to see it looking like this after the awful start to the summer.

25 Jul, 2012

26 Jul, 2012

My window cleaners always sit at the table on the patio and have their lunch, even if I'm not here! They say it's the warmest place on their round! (It is very sheltered!)
You'll have a lovely bowl of roses if you do cut them down!
Still hoping for some sun here - it's very grey at the moment.

26 Jul, 2012

grey here too M, apparently we are the only people who give our window cleaners a drink so they always come here if they are thirsty, they are great blokes and will do anything for us, yes I can have a lovely display of roses in the house, lucky me, Lol,xx just off to Morrisons, yuck I hate shopping,

26 Jul, 2012

I should imagine it's a pretty thankless job, really.
Mine told me that the reason that window cleaners just drift away and stop turning up is that rather than try to negotiate an increase in prices, they just start a new round. So it's probably a good idea to establish a relationship with them. As well as being kind, as well!

26 Jul, 2012

had the same chaps now for 18 years, never have put our price up, mind you we have to keep that quiet from the neighbours,

26 Jul, 2012

Lol! Yes - I think you should! It's all those cups of tea!

Great blog.

I think the yellow flowered plant in the second photo is

Sedum kamtschaticum "Weihenstephaner Gold"

I grow about a 100 plants a year of it on my nursery

http://www.flickr.com/photos/31559373@N00/6086017505/

I may be wrong though because I got the name after lots of googling

2 Aug, 2012

never, I will scratch your eyes out, leave my john alone, do you hear me,

2 Aug, 2012

Val, my good friend. I know you said not to call to B/A house on my journey over to you. But it was nice of B/A to ask me and the 24 grandchildren to stop over.I was thinking of what you said,But maybe it would be a bad idea if I did not stop,Samson the pony would be very third after pulling the caravan so far.I think Lulu would agree as she has a great knowledge of horses, it would be know harm to give Samson a rest and good feed. Just looking at B/A blog with lovley photos called END OF JULY,PLENTY COLOUR I did notice there was some African grasses mixed in with the Rozanne's,well Samson loves Africans grasses but he is colour blind,so he would not know the difference between the grasses and the flowers, and it would help B/A deheading. There is also a wonderful pond so Samson the pony and Billy the head goat would have plenty of water to drink. The 24 grandchildren would have great fun paddling their feet.

4 Aug, 2012

Erm ..... on second thoughts .....Johnjoe, I'm so sorry, I completely forgot. We have just sold the house and are moving to France. I would love you to visit us there, but it is only a little flat at the very top of a very tall building ...on a very small island in the middle of a very deep lake. otherwise of course, you would be very very welcome:-)
