HOPE YOU ARE ALL SAFE

Just thought I would do a blog and make sure everyone is safe after all the rain we are having, we woke this morning to a flooded garage, we live on a hill and the drains were coming up with the amount of rain, gardens completely ruined, hopefully it will ease off later today, I really do hope you are all fine and safe, hope your gardens are in better order than ours, looking at OH veg patch we now have rather a large pond that was not there yesterday, take care all of you and stay safe, xxx

6 Jul, 2012

My property is quite a way up a hill, so any flooding is always lower down in the town, nearer to the river.
I feel so sorry for everyone who has floods in their homes and businesses.
Awful for the wildlife too ...

6 Jul, 2012

I agree Terra, homes buisnesses and wildlife, your lucky like sticki and me living on a hill, we dread to think what is happening down in our village

Hi Yorkshire, sorry not comiserated earlier, been at the market (waste of a day that was). Am feeling just same as you. Last night we had about a months rain in 10 mins. I have NEVER seen anything like it. it makes my rainy day pics, look like a spring shower. My roses too are either flattened, or every single bloom has been removed, throught the sheer ferocity of the rain. Most of my other plants have a soggy rotting mess around them. I can't even get out to clean them up. When I went to work, I had geraniums, they've just gone (slugs)?I feel so fed up, as my garden is my pride and joy. Not least when I think what I spent this year on plants. In the interests of not feeling guilty, I stopped counting at about £250, what a waste of money, particularly as like most people, it is so scarce. Anyway, there's no point wittering about it, it won't reverse the weather.
Oh just a thought, I do hope Ralphie has something longer (and dryer) than shorts on now! Jxx

6 Jul, 2012

Last seen surfing on his wobble board singing waltzing matilda..... :0)

I,ve just been hearing on the news how bad it is......stay safe everyone.......
a bit of sun (I do hope soon) will dry it out and plants are usually wanting to survive so fingers crossed X x X

6 Jul, 2012

My brother lives in Cayton nr Scarborough, apparently the lifeboat people have had to evacuate some people from the caravan park, I`ve just been reading about it as we have different news, I think some of them might have been disabled, how scary that must have been for them...

The storms we're having just seem so bad at the moment, last wee in the midlands we had flooding and huge hailstones, now a week later a bit further north you've suffered and now the southwest......should be an interesting Olympic Games.....

7 Jul, 2012

I now realise just how bad it has been for so many of you. It is hard to know where to start sorting it all out. Let's hope that the weather will be kind to you so that everyone can try to get things back to normal.
