That is so wonderful photo collection, Terra !

3 Jan, 2015

Thanks Junna ... I was able to illustrate mostly with plant photos from my own GoY pictures ...

... but I've 'borrowed' pictures from Scottish and Rose1949 for the ones I didn't have !

3 Jan, 2015

Thanks for the reminders, TT. I will record them to watch when everything else is boring! Probably won't have to wait too long :)

3 Jan, 2015

Forgot to say what a lovely reminder of sunnier days that last photo is - heavy rain and a flooded garden again here today but that photo cheered me up.

3 Jan, 2015

Thanks Gee ..
I hope the flooding in your garden subsides soon ... very wet here too, but luckily good drainage. Shoots of spring bulbs are already peeking through :o)

3 Jan, 2015

I have some bulbs in pots that are just showing but I think those in the garden might not do so well. Never mind, spring is just around the corner :)

3 Jan, 2015

Many thanks for the info Terra, and gorgeous photos. Love those spring flowers (is that a Daphne in the first one?)!

3 Jan, 2015

Thanks Sheila ..
the first photo is of early flowering clematis and miniature syringa. The photos are all from my GoY single pics. .. except the two from Angie and Rose :o)

3 Jan, 2015

Love the photographs TT I did a blog on all the new series, 4 programs in all, watched the Sky one last night and The Big Allotment Challenge, thoroughly enjoyed both......

3 Jan, 2015

Hi Dotty ... when I looked at your blog it was only about the Sky programmes... seems you added more afterwards and changed the blog heading .... we're lucky to have so many gardening programmes on TV over the winter. :o)

3 Jan, 2015

Truly beautiful , very special Flower from the garden of Angie n' Rose :-)))

3 Jan, 2015

Hi Junna ... during the winter it's nice to look at flower photos to remind us of better weather !

3 Jan, 2015

Well your garden SHOULD be in Alan's top thirty ! :o)

Thanks for these times TT - I am looking forward to these programs ..... :o)

3 Jan, 2015

Thank you Hywel ... :o)
I hope the programmes are the same times on Welsh TV.

3 Jan, 2015

I hope so too.
But if there's a rugby match or something like that, then we'll have them at a different time :o(
I am very un-welsh in that I hate rugby and male voice choirs !
And I hate Tom Jones and Aled Jones :o((( can't stand those two ...

3 Jan, 2015

My TV book only gives regional variations for BBC1, not for the other channels ...

3 Jan, 2015

Never mind - I'll look it up on my laptop :o)

3 Jan, 2015

Those programmes will certainly fill the gap left by not being able to get into the garden and "do", Terra . Thanks for the info , OH wouldn't tell me as he tends to be the viewing "meister" and doesn't like gardening progs .
Happy New Year to you and your companions !

3 Jan, 2015

Hello Driad .. thanks ...
Lately I've been watching my old video tapes such as Miss Marple (Joan Hickson) ... but, yes .. looking forward to these evening garden programmes.
Happy New Year to you and yours !

3 Jan, 2015

Thanks for letting us know. I'll Sky+ the gardening show but will give the railways a miss. Mr Portillo gets on my wick!
I wasn't too keen on the one shown on Sky last night, but I'll give it another go. I think I didn't like it because the couple I thought had the best garden didn't win! :)

3 Jan, 2015

Hi Angie ... Thanks for the loan of your lovely Rhododendron photo ... maybe you could watch the programmes of the Scottish railways with the sound turned down ... just enjoy the scenery ! ;o)

3 Jan, 2015

Thanks Terra . . I thought I caught a whiff of its marvellous scent, lol :))

3 Jan, 2015

Lol. Sheila ...
the mini syringa blossom is one of my favourite garden scents :o)

3 Jan, 2015

Ta for the reminder TT, thank goodness for something interesting to watch.
The photo`s are a lovely reminder of whats to come in our gardens.

3 Jan, 2015

I think the only excuse for your gardens not being in his list is that he hasn't seen them...

3 Jan, 2015

Well said Steragram, I am with you on that one!

Lots of good programmes to look forward to.

3 Jan, 2015

Thank you for the reminder TT love all the pictures to illustrate the programmes. Alan's top 30 has missed a corker in missing your's TT :o)

4 Jan, 2015

Hi Stroller ... agree we need some good TV viewing at this time of year !
Hello Stera ... very kind comment !!

Thanks Chris ... I'm looking forward to these programmes.

Thank you Neena ... never before had my garden described as a 'corker' .... Lol. :o)

4 Jan, 2015

Oh ...that was a surprise Terra ! When you sent me a message, I had no idea what photo you had used and that gave me a lovely memory ! Thank you ! I'm not sure Rick will have room for one here though !
Thanks for the info. too ! xx

4 Jan, 2015

Great photo's Terra, I can see my sky planner is going to need another update, thankyou for the reminders....

4 Jan, 2015

Scottish, I agree with you re the Sky gardening program, I thought the wrong garden won, but it is good to see other people's gardens isn't it?

4 Jan, 2015

Hi Rose ...
thanks for loan of photo ... that's a lovely blog you made with all Rick's railway pics xxx

Thanks Sue .. I hope you enjoy all the programmes.

5 Jan, 2015

Thanks for this TT! I keep missing the gardening programmes so I've got these on my sky planner now!

5 Jan, 2015

Lol sorry TT but when describing your garden I ran out of superlatives.......:o)

6 Jan, 2015

Hi Mizzle and Neena
tonight's programme with Alan features GoY members Four Seasons ... in the rain
... should be good ! :o)

6 Jan, 2015

I enjoyed this evening's programmes ... useful info. on roses and climbers ..
... and well done to Marie and Tony on their number one slot on Alan Titchmarsh's programme...
with other familiar faces in the list too, including Grenville and Jen. :o)

6 Jan, 2015

More interesting shows this evening...
Carol Klein with daffodils, and Chris Beardshaw with blossom ... lovely ! :o)

7 Jan, 2015

Yes it was lovely, an excellent series.

7 Jan, 2015

Tonight's programme was so uplifting! Beautiful daffodils and very pretty blossoms - a really lovely programme.

By the way, I think Joan Hickson was the best Miss Marple! I would love to visit her in that little cottage with the charming garden. Please don't tell me she wasn't real!

7 Jan, 2015

Tonight's programme was so uplifting with glorious shots of daffodils and blossom.

By the way, I think Joan Hickson was the best Miss Marple by far. I loved her little cottage and garden.

7 Jan, 2015

Sorry about the 2 comments, didn't mean to do that!

7 Jan, 2015

Yes - as blossom is my favourite thing, the Chris Beardshaw slot was the best so far . . .

8 Jan, 2015

Chris Beardshaw and blossom is a winning combo :o)

... and, yes, Joan Hickson by far the best actress in the Miss Marple rôle ..

8 Jan, 2015

. . . and CB favoured the dwarf Syringa which you've featured Terra, so naturally I've already ordered one :)

9 Jan, 2015

Hi Sheila ..
You'll be pleased with your dwarf Syringa. Co-oincidence that I included the photo of my shrub above, because I didn't know CB would feature that species in his programme.

Some years ago I saw this shrub in a front garden where I walked near a local supermarket. It was the first time I'd ever seen a dwarf Syringa... in fact I didn't realise it was a syringa !

The scent was amazing. Then luckily, one time, the house owners were parking their car, and I asked if I could take a cutting... so my syringa was for free !

It has since grown into a large shrub and I've taken cuttings of the cutting, so you'll be able to do the same. The cuttings root readily. :o)

9 Jan, 2015

Thanks Terra . . . I wish I'd known about the cuttings before. I actually had a dwarf lilac a couple of years ago (couldn't resist the scent when I saw one in a lovely old fashioned nursery) but it died. This time I'll know better.

And now we know that we both have impeccable taste, because this shrub was the "winner" in tonight's programme about scent!

9 Jan, 2015

Hi again Sheila ...

Yes ... impeccable taste ;o)

... Toby and the scintillating scents ... Tom tip-toing through the tulips ... all great evening TV ;o)

11 Jan, 2015

This evening's programmes were Carol Klein ... Conifers ... very good ... and Tom Hart Dyke ... Pelargoniums ... excellent ...

... two great shows and two of the best garden presenters ... both of them knowledgeable, informative and not irritating ;o)

14 Jan, 2015

Having returned from 10 days in Spain last Tuesday night I missed all those programmes :-((

Just this evening I switched on the TV to see "Buckingham Palace Gardens" but found an old James Bond film in its place! :-((

Do you know of any more gardening series they will be showing on TV shortly, TT? I only switch the "box" on to watch something specific, like the gardening programmes, so I don't know what is on at present or will be on in the future.

To add to it all shortly before Christmas the small TV in our kitchen broke down & I can no longer watch "Breakfast" on BBC 1 while eating mine!

When I tried to put our main TV on this evening I also found the Freeview box doesn't seem to be working properly! We couldn't get any sound & the picture was all broken up into small squares! I had to substitute the Freeview box from the TV in the kitchen for the one in our living room! Now we get picture & sound as we should!

18 Jan, 2015
