That's a pity, Dotty ... I've been cutting my old box hedges down to the ground. Going to plant something different instead. 😊

What a real pest it is Tt.
I'm lucky, I have only one small box ball.
So sorry to hear you've lost so many Dd it must be heartbreaking. But then an opportunity to try something different..:)

It seems to be more prolific then ever, unfortunately.

Sorry to hear this Terra - seems it's just one pest after another recently doesn't it? Love the little verse though!
Hope the pets are still flourishing.

Thanks for your comments.. I don't really mind losing the box plants... they were already in my garden when I moved in. They had only slight moth damage, but I decided to take drastic steps and cut them almost to the ground.
I don't have the strength to dig out all the big roots, but this project has given me an opportunity to let more attractive shrubs nearby, which had become squashed, begin to spread out their branches.
Also I have some Lonicera nitida Baggesens Gold, grown from cuttings which will fill any gaps. 😊

Like your little verse. I got rid of my one & only box plant, moth caterpillars in Spring & some awful blight later on, so not worth the effort. Now you have space to grow something else. I have put my white Monardia in the tub the Box had. Hope the pets are ok. Your youngest dog must be quite big now.

Thank you, Feverfew. Good that you replaced your box plant so easily. The moths are definitely advancing across Britain !
I'm pleased I've made useful spaces where my Buxus bushes used to be...even though I'm not strong enough to dig out the roots. The nearby shrubs are already benefiting from more air and light.
2021 has been a challenging year for me, but both my dogs doing well now thanks. 🙂
