Jostling in June ...

How’s the weather been with you ?

Hot and sunny ? Cold and grey ?

This past month I’ve been jostling between dentists and dog shows …

… and all the while, my gardens have been flowering away happily, unaware of my hectic dashing to and fro …

…………………………………………………………….

Front garden …

Rose Heartbeat … my favourite …

…………………………………………………………….

Clematis Proteus …

…………………………………………………………….

Shrub rose Arthur Bell … stunning scent …

…………………………………………………………….

Clematis Bees Jubilee …

…………………………………………………………….

Cytisus Lena …

…………………………………………………………….

Peony … gift from a neighbour, some years ago …

……………………………………………………………..

Charity Dog Show ….

Conker with his little car which he tows along…

… part of his first place Tricks performance …

Doll’s hat and teddy’s bow knitted brilliantly by Pamg

…………………………………………………………….

… and Truffle says please remember he wins rosettes in the dog show classes for Waggiest Tail ;o)

…………………………………………………………….

Back garden …

Ceanothus Zanzibar …

……………………………………………………………..

… close-up of the variegated leaves …

…………………………………………………………….

… and through the lavender …

…………………………………………………………….

Blackbird enjoying the dappled shade …

…………………………………………………………….

Clematis and Coronilla valentina …

…………………………………………………………….

Late evening sun under the arch …

…………………………………………………………….

On my pergola, the Arthur Bell climber is producing lots of flowers …

…………………………………………………………….

This year, his roses are dangling down like garlands …

…………………………………………………………….

This ‘hanging blooms’ effect is very pretty …

…………………………………………………………….

He looks attractive from a distance, too …

…………………………………………………………….

At the dog show, Conker won first prize in the Tricks class, and also first place in the Pedigree Pastoral/Working class …

All funds raised at the charity dog show were used to help with dog rescue and dog rehoming.

Thanks for visiting our blog …

Wishing you sunny weather and happy gardening. x

I do love to see pics of your pretty garden, love that rose Heartbeat, what a stunning colour, the Arthur Bell rose does have a beautiful scent, we grow the shrub version.......and congrats to the boys, so clever, are they not?

Your garden and your dogs are equally incredible Terra! Garden is immaculate, beautiful and those roses...wow...and that lavender!...and, oh, it's all lovely! To answer the question you asked, our weather has been a 'normal' Scottish June so far on the East coast. mostly dry, cool and fairly sunny....I'm not complaining at all...it will do fine! Long may it continue!

16 Jun, 2013

Really stunning pictures of your gardens and the one of the lavender is incredible and very beautiful.
The first rose is really pretty and I can see why it is a favourite of yours.
It is a place to be very proud of indeed.

What is left to say? Fantastic blog as usual, the plants all beautiful & Conker also. Glad that the proceeds from the dog show go to such a worthwhile charity.Went to a talk this week about Canine Partners, dogs who help their disabled owners. Have also visited their place near Midhurst, Sussex & seen the demonstrations of the tasks they can accomplish.Clever dogs.

Beautiful Terra the flowers ......and the boys xxx

Your roses and clematis are stunning, they look perfect, not a blemish in sight!
Rather like a swan all serene
and paddlin along madly underneath
Well done x

All looking lovely TT..... well done conker :))

Thanks everyone for your comments ...
My dogs are enjoying the charity shows as much as ever, and ... yes ... so many worthy causes needing funds ...

Strange weather this summer, but it seems to suit the roses very well ...

Lol .. Pamg .. agreed ..
Despite a challenging year, I'm trying to stay serene !

Everything in the garden is rosy! Lovely blog, as ever, TT. The first rose looks very much like one I have in the back but which I did not plant. I know birds bring presents but - a rose? I love mine too but have never known the name, so am wondering now if it is the same as yours. The shot of the ceanothus through the lavender looks competition-worthy in my humble opinion and am delighted to hear that your gorgeous boys are still carrying off the prizes in a very good cause.

17 Jun, 2013

Hello Terra :)

Your garden is looking really lovely and colourful...it certainly must be loving your weather - everything's coming up roses!

Great to see that the boys are still on form! :)

17 Jun, 2013

Hi Karen ... nice to see you back on GoY :o)
My dogs very much enjoy the shows ...

Hello Lijemc ...
Truffle promises to keep on wagging !

17 Jun, 2013

Terra you are a star,I think you've just named my new blue clematis, it was a supermarket buy known only as clematis and is the same as your Proteus.
Your garden is up to its usual standards as are the boys, well done Conker, a lovely photo of him Terra, he's looking so pleased with his prizes and Truffle I love your waggy tail, its a sign of a happy dog..
Lovely photo's Terra, hope you are feeling ok after all the trips to the dentist....

17 Jun, 2013

Hi Sue ..
Glad to have named Proteus for you :o)
Roses are really growing all over the place this year ...

Conker loves having his photo taken ... and Truffle never stops wagging ..

Wisdom tooth is gone .. gradually perking up thanks :o)

17 Jun, 2013

My roses are gradually coming out as well Terra, would you believe the ones in the dogrun and near the waterbutts are the best so far, lol.
Glad the tooth has gone, the wisdom teeth are beggars if one has problems with them, so it must be a relief...

17 Jun, 2013

... I have roses over the dog run and water butts too !
Good places for roses ...

17 Jun, 2013

Stunning photos Terra, that first rose is breathtaking. Lovely to see Conker continuing his winning ways and congratulations to Truffles remarkable tail:-))

17 Jun, 2013

What beautiful roses you have, TT. I have never seen Hearbeat rose, byt I have fallen in love. It looks very strong and elegant.
Congratulation to Conker and waggy tail winner, lol.

17 Jun, 2013

Looks like you've had more sunshine than we have, TT, your garden looks gorgeous. Glad you have found relief at the dentist, toothache is awful. The boys are looking good and obviously enjoy the shows and all for a good cause - well done, all of you :)

17 Jun, 2013

Oh, I hate toothache, glad to hear your sorted now TT. Your garden is looking very summery now and your roses are super. Whilst we all might have complained about the rain last year, some plants have benefitted, I think.
Boys at their best I see.... Well done Team Terra! Bet that tail just never stops :)

17 Jun, 2013

A wisdom tooth! You have my sympathy. I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed in hospital 2 years ago and the recovery can only be described as horrendous. It was months before my face returned to normal and I lost so much weight as I could not open my mouth to eat for several weeks.

17 Jun, 2013

Ajajaj. Teeth are just for trouble.

18 Jun, 2013

Terratoonie:

Gorgeous photos! I love your roses! I don't have any roses myself; however, I enjoy my neighbor's roses which start blooming in late February or early March...they continue to bloom. Roses can bloom all year here in San Diego, they just need a light pruning every 4 or 5 months.

18 Jun, 2013

some wonderful plants there tt. glad the pooches are looking fit and healthy.

18 Jun, 2013

Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments...
there's a photo of more of my Heartbeat roses at the very start of this blog .. super petal colours ..

Kat ... yes, Heartbeat is a fabulous rose ..

Gee and Scottish ... I'm pleased to report that the wisdom tooth area is beginning to heal now ... Tusedaybear .. yes I lost some weight too !

Team Terra members are looking after me very well ...
Truffle and Conker fetching and carrying, and Crocus budgie tweeting positive thoughts ;o)

Andy .. maybe find a corner of your garden for just one lovely rose ? :o)

18 Jun, 2013

Terratoonie:

I look down on my neighbor's property. I get to enjoy her roses which she planted in the front and back yards. She takes such good care of them that I get to enjoy seeing them bloom all year. Also, she gives me large, cut roses for my vases. It's a win, win situation. :>)

18 Jun, 2013

Nice neighbour :o)

Very late on the scene TT. Have Conkers ears gone more fluffy than they were, or am I imaging they have? Your photos are really clear and pin sharp. A pleasure to look at them. That blue clematis is a delight.
