Looks really beautiful Terra, nice to see the head gardener keeping a watchful eye on you :-))

I`ve just come in from shopping and it was bitterly cold, so to sit in the warm and take a virtual stroll thru your garden was most welcome TT. You`ve got such a lot of lovely springtime planting it lifts the spirits no end, and of course we see the head gardener looks pleased with it all.

27 Apr, 2013

Wow you have such a lot of colour, mine's looking awful and my Coronilla Valentina has suffered terribly. Not been on here much and trying to catch up. Lovely to see the head gardener again:-))

27 Apr, 2013

That raised bed is perfect, TT. A tapestry of colours.

27 Apr, 2013

Everything looking so vibrant , don't think head gardener would let you put a foot wrong :-)

27 Apr, 2013

Its always a pleasure to join you and the Head Gardener Terra, where is the apprentice??.. lovely photo's your whole garden must look so pretty.
My Amelanchiar is out and looks a picture but my Bridal Wreath is late this year, usually they bloom together, yours is gorgeous, I've just realised looking at through your pics that my starry eyes has not made it through so I'll have to replace it,great favourite of mine....

27 Apr, 2013

Thanks everyone for your comments and likes ..

Our Head Gardener has been working hard ...

... Apprentice Gardener is still considering how best he can redesign our Wishing Garden ;o)

I bought Valentina only last year so I wasn't sure what to expect with flowering and survival ...

Thanks Meadowland for such a wonderful, descriptive phrase ... tapestry of colours .. :o)

Sue .. Sorry to read your Starry Eyes didn't make it through the winter... Did you have it planted in a very exposed area ?

27 Apr, 2013

All looking lovely , Terra , good team work as usual .

27 Apr, 2013

Lovely Terra xxx

Ribes and spirea out together are a lovely combination, the pink and white go so well together, one of my favorites, but so many of them are. ( Conker of course is my very favorite.....)

As I was driving home today I was noticing the hedges beginning to show their spring greens, and golden daffodils

I do love spring x

27 Apr, 2013

Hello Driad... Conker says thank you :o)

Conker sends cuddles ... xxx

27 Apr, 2013

Your garden is a delight to see and I am sure it must have had its own special supply of sunshine to make it look so beautiful.
:-) :-)

27 Apr, 2013

How lovely to stroll through your beautiful garden TT x Your head gardener has been working very hard no wonder he looks so happy surrounded by so much colour - what an artistic eye he has ;o)

27 Apr, 2013

How I dream of my wee strip one day looking.
Bliss, Terra!

28 Apr, 2013

Thanks Wildrose, Neena and Mouldy ...
Conker brings sunshine to my life every day :o)

Mouldy ... you are doing brilliantly with your wee strip
... it will soon be full of colour ..

.. and Conker could lend you a paw ..
he is a Shetland Sheepdog, so you two would
probably speak the same language. Lol.

28 Apr, 2013

Wonderful Terra, so much colour! Your head gardener gives me the impression that he's about to do a "piece to camera" a la Monty Don, and tell us all about the raised bed - "Hello and welcome to Conker's World..." :)

28 Apr, 2013

Lol. Dirtyred ...
Conker would enjoy performing for the TV cameras ..

'that's all for the moment from the pebble garden ..
.. and now over to Truffle the Terrier who will demonstrate speed-mowing' ;o)

28 Apr, 2013

Hahaha, love it :)

28 Apr, 2013

I'd better break out the paint, then. Lol.

28 Apr, 2013

All looking great TT - is it the apprentice's day off?
Everything looking very healthy and spring like - isn't it marvellous!

28 Apr, 2013

Thanks Angie ...
Apprentice is taking several days off till the weather warms up again ...
... after that ... watch out ...
Truffle has plans for a major redesign of the back garden ;o)

28 Apr, 2013

I always look forward to seeing your spring garden,Terra..complete with head Gardener:o) It really is a riot of colour, just when we need it the most..just beautiful ..xxx

28 Apr, 2013

Thank you Sandra ..
The colours are rather all mixed up, but, with Mother Nature, it doesn't seem to matter. Lol. xxx

28 Apr, 2013

I don't like regimented colour schemes,Terra..I'm a bit of a mish mash gardener :o)..and no one told the birds where to drop their seeds either, did they?.It all seems to work ok in the grand scheme of things :o)

28 Apr, 2013

Its wonderful - so much colour and so natural looking.
I guess you had to do most of the manual work for the boss - hope Conker pays you the right rate for the job!

28 Apr, 2013

I know what you mean Sandra ...
There's no definite colour scheme in my gardens :o)

28 Apr, 2013

Hi Steragram ..
Thanks. Conker is useful both as supervisor and as manual worker ... multi-tasking ;o)

28 Apr, 2013

So full of colour and perfect as always TT,well done.

28 Apr, 2013

Hi Dick ...
appreciate your kind words ...
.. thanks for visiting :o)))

29 Apr, 2013

What a lovely collection of spring flowers Terra! Thank you so much for sharing your spring with us. not too much sign of it up here. I can't believe we are entering May and still no leaves on the trees. It really is hard to bear, and it's so cold and windy today. it could easily be any midwinter day were it not for the brave spring bulbs and alpines. Your garden looks like it really is spring! On a positive note, at least the sun is shining!

29 Apr, 2013

I really only just this weekend noticed the hedges and trees beginning to leaf and its may in a few days, the may blossom will be very late this year.
I hope it reaches you soon Karen, its making the winter seem so very long

29 Apr, 2013

Thank you Pam, I'm finding it tough...we are entering our 13th month of 'winter'. We only had one week last year, during August, that the temps. Got above about 10-12C for more than one odd day here and there...and they were very sparse. I think our days in Scotland may be winding down. When OH retires in a few years, I think we will move away.

29 Apr, 2013

Hello Karen .. Thanks.
I understand why you would be tempted by warmer climes.
My gardens are getting their springtime colour but it still isn't really warm. As Pam says ... some of the Maytime blossom will be late ...

29 Apr, 2013

I love your garden pics at this time of year, so much colour. The sun is shining here today but it's soooo cold in the wind. I think I will move with Karen :o))

29 Apr, 2013

yes it will! We still have no cherry blossom here. However, I feel a bit guilty for moaning so much. I've just been outside and it is 11C which is actually warmer than most areas today...just very windy. At least the tulips are beginning to emerge and bring some long awaited colour!

29 Apr, 2013

About the same as here then Karen :o)

29 Apr, 2013

Thanks Annie ..
Springtime has always been my favourite time of year ..

Chilly winds here ... and cold when the clouds come over ...

Let's all move with Karen ;o)
..... will there be room for two more small dogs and a friendly budgie ? Lol.

29 Apr, 2013

lol...yeah! Let's ...why not!

29 Apr, 2013

Karen's Ark ... all aboard ;o)

29 Apr, 2013

Yeah! The great world gardening Ark....wherever there's sunshine, warmth and the occasional downpour (during the night obviously) we'll drop anchor there! :))

29 Apr, 2013

Karen's Amazing Ark of Gardens ..
... and ..because I have slight toothache at the moment ... please may we have a dentist on board ... :o)))

29 Apr, 2013

That's one thing I can manage! :)) Take some painkillers TT! :))

29 Apr, 2013

Thanks Karen .. will do :o)

29 Apr, 2013

Your spring garden looks amazing Terra. I also plant for the early spring show but yours looks fantastic.

29 Apr, 2013

Nice to see your colourful garden, and Conker enjoying himself :o)

30 Apr, 2013

Starry Eyes was near the fishpond area Terra, its obviously not the place for it as thats twice I've lost it now, won't give up trying though, I'm not a flowers on parade person either, I love a mingle effect, don't like striped lawns either but appreciate others do and certainly will never get the velvet look with sharing with Brynner and Morgan, spring has reverted to winter temps wise today, I even wore my jacket for a potting session in the g'house, brrrrr!!!!!!

30 Apr, 2013

Hi Klahanie ... Thanks.
I'm pleased you like my springtime gardens.
A wonderful time of year ..

Thank you, Hywel ...
Conker is smiling in that photo ..
.. and he's still smiling .. Lol.

Hello Sue ..
Maybe your next Starry Eyes should be planted with its roots under some pebbles, and in a rather shady place, with some protection from cold winds ...
... yes... 'mingle effect' .. I like that term :o)

30 Apr, 2013

Inspiring, as usual. I love the Head Gardener and think he comes very cheap at 3 Bonios per hour. I could do with his help in the garden - and the apprentice would be made very welcome too. I assume Cherry Ingram is the stunning blue plant but don't recognise it. Glorious.

1 May, 2013

Thanks Tuesdaybear...
If you would like to hire the Head Gardener and Apprentice as a 'package' we offer a special rate of 2 Bonios each per hour ;o)

The blue plant is Omphalodes Cherry Ingram ...
it enjoys growing in a rather shady area. :o)

1 May, 2013

Bargain rate!! I might have to take you up on that. Have plenty of rather shady areas where I might accommodate O. Cherry Ingram. Thank you.

1 May, 2013

What lovely colours! My garden does not have as much colour in spring as I would like. I am working on it and your photos are great inspiration!

2 May, 2013

Hi Tuesday Bear ..
the Omphalodes Starry Eyes should do well in the same shady area ..

Thanks Anujag ..
Lots of springtime colours :o)
Good luck with your planting.
I'm pleased you like the blog.

2 May, 2013

So many colours and smells! I bet Conker is happy in there :))

3 May, 2013

Hello Kat .. Thank you ..

yes... lot of lovely garden scents at this time of year ..
and Conker was enjoying himself out there :o)))

3 May, 2013

Thank you and head gardener for sharing the results of all your hard work.

4 May, 2013

Hello Scotsgran ..
Thanks for visiting ...
Head Gardener does most of the work ;o)

4 May, 2013

I see pictures of other people's gardens on this forum and I feel like I'm just a complete amateur.

8 May, 2013

Hi Treetop..
I think it is just that we all have different styles of gardening ... you have a very neat garden ..

On GoY, it's interesting to see other people's planting and ideas. Thanks for visiting my blog :o)

8 May, 2013

Well to be honest TT my garden is very young. we inherited it last September. The grass/weeds were 2/3 feet high. We were told the garden had never been mowed in 6 years. It was really hard work.

8 May, 2013

Exciting and challenging , though , Tt .
