not sure Terra-- its more like autumn at the moment here with ripening fruit and yellowing leaves falling off the trees.... truly mixed up seasons.....(love the lambs.....)

8 Aug, 2011

I have a white Hellebore putting up lots of flowers, plus polyanthus flowering. Strange...

8 Aug, 2011

Sorry Terra ,I think autumn started here yesterday ,too . Lovely pics though --a bit of magic in your garden .

8 Aug, 2011

Excellent blog TT - I particularly like the one with the doggies and the lamb - it made me laugh:)

8 Aug, 2011

Yes Terra, Polyanthus, Allysum, Aubretia and Forget-Me-Nots all having a trial run, lol, mind you its so cold here today even though its sunny, the wind is blowing all my apples off my trees, grrr,.......
Lovely photo`s, your boys are so good, if that lamb was here I`m afraid it wouldn`t last five mins around Brynner, he`s still in destructive mode I`m afraid...

8 Aug, 2011

Thanks folks...
Interesting which of your "springtime" flowers are having another try at blooming ... and which gardens have an aura of autumn ...

That lamb has been leaping around all day ;o)

8 Aug, 2011

Why is the font type different on this blog TT? It was the 'normal' one when I typed it in, then has changed to this one. Strange!

8 Aug, 2011

Hi Sheila ... Is the font okay now ? ;o)

8 Aug, 2011

Yes - did you do it TT or was it magic:D)

8 Aug, 2011

Hi Sheila.... it was magic .... xxx

8 Aug, 2011

8 Aug, 2011

8 Aug, 2011

Thank you Lulu and Surreylad ...
I don't have lupins, but my small campanulas are all still in flower...

8 Aug, 2011

My magnolia is flowering even though it has been more like autumn on many days. The magnolia always gets a few flowers in summer but I feel it has more this year. Kerria also flowering. As i look out now I can see a huge black cloud and it's very windy. Still a bonus for you to have spring again.

8 Aug, 2011

Hi Marshmallow...

Great to know your magnolia is putting on such a good show for you :o)))

8 Aug, 2011

Yes and dropping petals everywhere again!

8 Aug, 2011

8 Aug, 2011

Hi Joanella ...
Very windy today...
Supposed to be sunnier tomorrow...

Conker, Truffle and the lamb all say "Hi" ;o)

8 Aug, 2011

Hello Homebird ...
Yes, I am confused about the weather this year ..
no wonder the plants are puzzled too... Lol.

8 Aug, 2011

My aubretia hasn't stopped flowering since Spring..lol

8 Aug, 2011

Hi Moti ..
Permanent spring happiness in your garden with young Remi around ;o)

8 Aug, 2011

:o)))

8 Aug, 2011

Polyanthus and aubretia also having a go at flowering chez Frybo, Terra.

8 Aug, 2011

Only some Spring Polyanthus flowering here Terra, my garden is full to bursting with summer flowers so nothing else can get a look in. Not even weeds!

8 Aug, 2011

Some Hyacinths showing buds and I have a winter cyclamen which has decided to start flowering four months early.

8 Aug, 2011

I've got a cycalmen which I noticed today has got three flowers on it! Strange, it's as if the seasons are all mixed up.

8 Aug, 2011

I have a cyclamen too and a pink hellebore!

8 Aug, 2011

Wow... from your comments it seems like cyclamen are well ahead of schedule in many parts of the country...

.. not forgetting the hyacinths and hellebores ! :o)

9 Aug, 2011

Yep. Cyclamen, hellibores, aubritia. The seasons and thus the plants definitely appear to be muxed ip.

9 Aug, 2011

are you feeling muxed ip too diggin? i frequently feel like that!
i also have masses of red rowan berries and a holly covered in green berries oh yes and leaves beginning to fall!!

9 Aug, 2011

primroses in full bloom here to Terra and other rockery plants trying to flower on and off, no daffs though lol, the boys look great, lovely pics :o)) x

9 Aug, 2011

most of the rowan berries have already gone, the hawthorns have a lot of red haws and the orchard fruits are coming on, I'd say a month early.......

9 Aug, 2011

Beautiful blog Terra, I have lots of primroses in flower.

9 Aug, 2011

i also i have conkers falling off the trees!!

9 Aug, 2011

Lovely blog Terratoonie and especially the lambs :o))

9 Aug, 2011

I've just realised my Ceanothus is having a small second flowering so I was wrong to think a second spring had passed my garden by. :o)

9 Aug, 2011

Lovely blog Tt .. I like that Syringa ... I can see Kerria in my neighbour's garden ... and there are Forget-me-nots & Polyanthus in full bloom in my garden ... all very strange! It's been a lovely day here ... almost thought it was Summer! :o)))

9 Aug, 2011

Thanks to those who let me know they like this blog :o)

Interesting to read which plants are flowering this August ... rockery plants for Sandra up in Blackpool, and forget-me-nots in Sussex ... those certainly bring thoughts of spring time...

...while in other areas there are definite hints of autumn ..
... fascinating ...

Sticki... I won't tell Conker about the conkers ;o)

Yes, lovely sunny day... I'm in the middle of an exhausting fence-repair project, so not very much chance to be on GoY for a few days .....

I'm doing lots of painting.. drilling etc .. !

... hoping I'll be able to make a blog of it all eventually.

9 Aug, 2011

Make an awful lot of noise while you're doing it Tt ... might blot out the fowl noise! ......... I'm busy on the allotment and just can't keep up with the blogs & pics ... much as I try I'm always "the cow's tail" as Hywel puts it ... lol! :o)))

9 Aug, 2011

No don't let conker know TT, he might either get upset or more worrying get ideas!!

This would be very interesting information to put on a map to see the patterns - perhaps a program like country file would be interested in this information?

9 Aug, 2011

I have polyanthus, aubretia, and my grape hyacinth have pushed up their green shoots! All very confusing! Oh and my indoor cyclamen is in full bloom!

9 Aug, 2011

Hi Terra...great minds think alike! I put a blog on yesterday showing, among others, sambucus black lace, geum rivale leonards variety and skimmia magic marlot which is full of buds. I do have primulas flowering too, but unfortunately....no lambs! The boys are looking so handsome:-))

10 Aug, 2011

Hi Bornagain ...
Yes, I saw your blog, which you put on GoY the day after this one... lots of spring flowers around ...

Hello Lisal... thanks for reminding me about the grape hyacinth shoots... I've noticed those in my front garden too ... :o)

Sticki ... the hints of springtime seem to be in lots of different areas of the British Isles, don't they ... interesting...

You're right Shirley .. allotment tasks, and my ongoing fencing work mean less time and energy for GoY !
... and the fowl noise .. sometimes I put my radio on to try to muffle it ... I try to ignore the poultry, and keep on working as much as possible ... not always easy ... :o)

10 Aug, 2011

Lovely blog terra, and my primroses and polyanthus are all flowering again, although some parts of the garden are looking very autumnal. The seasons seem to be all mixed up and our best weather was in the spring.

10 Aug, 2011

Thanks, Rose ..
Sounds like your garden is a mixture of spring and autumn... Lol..

... and, yes, we did have all that dry, warm weather back in the springtime...

10 Aug, 2011

10 Aug, 2011

It's like Autumn in my garden at the moment TT, which is not good as opening my garden in 2 weeks time....... My geraniums have been hammered with all this heavy rain...!!!

10 Aug, 2011

Hi Louis ... yes, it has been very windy today ... and I think you'll get more rain tomorrow ...

... good luck with your garden opening ... :o)

10 Aug, 2011

Haha, love the dogs! (and the flowers ofc:P)

10 Aug, 2011

My forget me not's have flowered all year but my Hydrangea has give up no flower,s and small bud's at the top but lot's of new growth at the bottom. Love the picture of Conker and Truffle with their friend and all your lovely Spring! flower's :-)

11 Aug, 2011

Lovely blog and photos lovely to see the boys, this last couple of days here as been like autumn :((

11 Aug, 2011

Lovely blog and pics again TT.
Love the 'Lambs'. lol.
Boys are looking gorgeous as usual.
Yep, strange weather here too.
Hibiscus were all in bud, but weather has been dreadful here for the past few weeks. Instead of them opening, they've just withered and died, and now the leaves are falling like Autumn, but underneath the Hibiscus plants, my primroses have had second wind.
My climbing rose on the back wall has had another burst of blooms, and my Golden rose i planted in memory of my Mum and Dad, is in bloom again, which I'm pleased about, as it would have been their Diamond Anniversary on the 4th August, and above the Rose, my Magnolia Susan has had another flourish of flowers.
Weather is so like Autumn, I even made a stew, and rice pudding yesterday. Had to put central heating on again yesterday as it was so cold.
Pouring down again today. ....

11 Aug, 2011

Great blog! One of my pyracanthas is flowering again. It has berries and flowers at the same time.

11 Aug, 2011

Hi Weatherwise... Thanks ...
Berries and flowers on the same pyracantha ..
... that's fantastic :o))

Thank you, Linda ...
Conker and Truffle say hi ...:o)

Interesting to read how your garden has coped in the strange weather ... At this time of year, I hope you don't have too many days requiring you to heat your home ! :o(

So pleased that the Golden Rose is doing so well on the Golden Anniversary year ... :o)))

11 Aug, 2011

Thanks TT.
It would have been my Mam and Dads 'Diamond' Anniversary on the 4th, not their golden sorry.
It was actually mine and Hubbies 'Ruby' on Tues 9th.
Hi to Conker, Truffle and Crocus from Mali and me. xxx ;o)

11 Aug, 2011

Hi Linda and Mali...
Thanks for explaining ...
.... and, for all those anniversaries... Ruby and Diamond ..
...I'm glad the roses are flowering in celebration :o))) xxx

11 Aug, 2011

To add to my list ,I now have Delphiniums, Forget-me-nots, Yellow Allysum, Campanula never has stopped, Sweet Williams, Mauve Aubretia, Denticulata and my Ceanotus is also coming out again, I did have Red and Yellow Polyanthus as well as white but the doves have eaten the flowers today, my Petunias are going over already and my Amalenchier leaves are already turning yellow, the Hawthorn at the bottom of the garden is smothered in red berries, the Worcester Pomain apples have ripened at least a month early and in the wind are falling faster than I can pick them up, shame really as they don`t store..
My Hydrangea has also had a very bad year, only a few blooms which have been ruined by the weather as well. the roses however are absolutely gorgeous and still going strong..

11 Aug, 2011

Wow.... what a lot you've got, Lincslass !

Denticulata too ? amazing....

My hydrangeas and roses have all done well.... I wonder why some members have not had success with hydrangeas this year....
... maybe insufficient water during those dry weeks of early spring ?

11 Aug, 2011

I think you are right Terra, the blooms are also very small compared to other years, certainly a very weird year in the gardens.
One good thing though is that my bottom lawn is recovering well, I had a lot of bare patches where I`d cleared the moss and in view of the warm wet weather conditions in the last month more like April, I`ve been reseeding in patches, its growing well, so I`m pleased with that...

11 Aug, 2011

Not sure what flowers in spring or autumn yet but looking forward to finding out next year. otherwise i think autumn is well and truly in my garden it's been blowing a gale and raining nearly all week!

12 Aug, 2011

Hi Fp...
It does seem that this year it's our gardens that don't know which plants should flower in spring and which in autumn... !!!
... maybe next year will be different...

Yes... very windy this week... hoping for some sunshine soon... :o)

14 Aug, 2011

Hi again Pam ...

Barbie at Christmas ?
We can burn my old fencing panels ..:o)))
Yesterday I was determined to break the back of my fencing job.... or break my back in the process ... so I worked 9 hours non stop, and then started on the fence early again today... and I think I've just about finished the main part of the work ! :o)))

Thanks Patricia ...
I hope your dogs are well ...
Sorry your plants have been chewed.... x

Hi Jackie...

14 Aug, 2011

Congratulations Lindalulu - hope you had a good celebration. I've just got one yellow primrose, two tiny cyclamen and some grape hyacinth shoots - but they're always early anyway. Amazing about the ducklings Sticky! Hope they have time to grow up before the cold weather. Well done with your fence, TT - I feel tired just reading bout it!

14 Aug, 2011

Thanks Steragram ..
I found a novel way of lifting 6ft x 6ft fencing panesl across my lawn... all by myself .. not easy when I weigh just under 8 stone... maybe when I've recovered I'll make a blog about it ..Lol.

Nice for you to have that defiant little yellow primrose :o)
