I see Conker and Truffle did a good job in helping with your blog xx

14 Sep, 2010

I own up to being more a cliff than an elvis fan and I love the Shadows-- remember Apache ---- those drums...

I think especially in the winter variegated evergreens are the 'bones ' of my garden--- always bright & cheerful , yours look lovely-- is the pink flower a spirea?

14 Sep, 2010

Gotta love the song and your beautiful dogs, Conker and Truffle. Your garden is looking very handsome and the tune just finishes if off in grand style, TT.

14 Sep, 2010

14 Sep, 2010

Lol ... Hywel....
I thought you'd got lost in your garden amongst the kitten statues ;o) x

14 Sep, 2010

I got lost trying to find my way back to the house through all the undergrowth lol

14 Sep, 2010

Lol. Hywel.... ask for a strimmer for Christmas...;o)

Thanks Karensusan ...
we'll have to organise a sing-song for the next GoY convention ...
... our dogs can all join in too... ;o)

14 Sep, 2010

My dog would be too busy growling at all the other dogs and jumping up all the people's legs and scratching them. Bloomin Jack Russel Terrier!! ;))

Great job...they are all beautiful. Thanks for the tune!

14 Sep, 2010

14 Sep, 2010

Thank you, Amy...
Conker and Truffle say hello ... and they reckon you sang the song well. :o) xxx

14 Sep, 2010

I have to admit I sang this blog to myself. Better that way than out loud!!!! Conker and Truffle would start to howl if they heard me. I thought your plants looked so fresh and healthy, wonderful at this time of year.
Oh! Amy if I get that song stuck in my head it will drive me round the garden.

14 Sep, 2010

Brillliant blog as ever TT love Conker and Truffle posing in front of your super variegations what cute boys they are :o)

14 Sep, 2010

Handsome dogs surrounded by some very handsome plants, where would we be without variegated leaves, would be very boring......

14 Sep, 2010

lovely plants TT :-)

15 Sep, 2010

number 3 Tt, number 4 looks to be like weigela --- I've one of those I grew from a cutting

15 Sep, 2010

;wonderful blog again TT, but my old man ain`t gonner thank you, he`s fed up already listening to my rendering over and over again and its only been 10mins since I read your blog.
Love to you all.

15 Sep, 2010

Very catchy refrain and ingenious way to entertain us all. Thanks Terra.

15 Sep, 2010

Like this very much, given me some good ideas, well done.
The pics are lovely and they do match the song.

15 Sep, 2010

It's all your fault that I've got the song going round and round my head, Tt! ;-/

Love the plants, though - and the furry ones are fantastic! Probably very rare.. LOL....x

15 Sep, 2010

)( )( )( )( )( )( )( )( )( )(I'm copying Hewel with the applause!! Lovely blog as always Terra, and great to see the boys so fit and happy, thank you:-)

15 Sep, 2010

Brill blog TT, and what a Coincidence!!!!

15 Sep, 2010

Thanks Linda, Neena, Dotty, Grindle, Stroller, Dorjac, Terry11, Sh, Borna, and Annella for your kind comments... I'm sure you all singing "Variegations" would make a great GoY chorus :o)))

Pam... photo 3 was a plant I rescued when a neighbour across the road had her garden turned into more parking area ... I think it is a type of hydrangea ...

15 Sep, 2010

TT, lovely blog as per usual, do you sing in a choir by any chance?? I do actually but we sing more church themed and classic music. As the saying goes 'you don't have to be mad to work here, but if you are it helps !' Think that fits don't you!! Conker is looking well TT, hope that is so?
Gmge. x

15 Sep, 2010

yes-- now I've had another look-- its a sort of variegated lacecap-- not seen one of those before! its lovely

15 Sep, 2010

Looks like hydrangea tricolour to me Terra, the leaves look less colourful than quadricolor:-)) I've got quadriclour Pam on one of my pics if you're interested, I think it's a fantastic plant:-)

15 Sep, 2010

I tried to join in , TT, but as I'm tone deaf I sounded more like the croaking of your friendly frog. Lovely lot of varigated plants there, I must admit I love them especially if they are evergreen too. The boys are looking good too. I am taking Millie to a fun dog show in a couple of weeks. I don't know if I am brave enough to put her into any classes but it should be fun. We went to Paws in the Park last Sunday and had a brilliant day.

15 Sep, 2010

Hi Gee.... yes, do enter Millie in the fun dog show ... !!!
... she looks a winner to me :o)))
What did you think of Paws in the Park ?

Thanks Bornag ... I'll take a look at your quadricolor...

Grandmage... When I sing, my dogs start jumping about dancing... Lol.
You can lead the GoY choir ;o)
Conker seems okay thanks... just a little throatiness now and then ...

15 Sep, 2010

I'll see what classes they have when we get there, TT. Paws in the Park was a great day out. Millie and Stig loved it too, especially watching the fly-ball and agility events. They just laid there as if to say 'what on earth are they doing that for?' I must admit I am considering laying down a couple of 'jumps' in the garden to see if Millie will perform :) I spent lots of money, new collar, harness and lead for Millie, and a 'bushranger' hat for me for wet winter walks.

15 Sep, 2010

Yes, when there are "doggie" stalls at these charity dog shows, it is tempting to spend lots of money. I'm sure Millie would be good at agility... and you could put her in Rescue class, Crossbreed class.... and sometimes they have a class for Dog Most Like It's Owner..... ;o)

15 Sep, 2010

Great TT, lovely selection and the "boys" are looking very well. What I want to know is, when do we get a photo of you on one of your blogs?

15 Sep, 2010

Lol... Bob.... do we have a pic of you on GoY yet ??? x

15 Sep, 2010

Not likely TT, I'm not in the business of frightening people LOL.

15 Sep, 2010

Lol.... Maybe a photo of you in a Santa Claus outfit at Christmas ;o)

15 Sep, 2010

The quadricolour is amazing Ba-- you say that you were repotting it-- has it been any more vigorous? , sometime variegated or pale leaves do make a plant more 'delicate', I'm thinking of Salix flamingo which is just not strong enough for my windy garden

15 Sep, 2010

just thought Tt, can you give dogs Manuka honey, I take it daily, its supposed to boost the immune system and help sooth throats etc,

15 Sep, 2010

Thanks for the thought, Pam...
When Conker was very ill, GoY member Arlene, kindly sent him some Manuka honey, and I give him this when he gets a bit "throaty" ... xxx

15 Sep, 2010

TT. I would give him a spoonful daily ! They say it works wonders, I had a terrible cough that would not shift, but Manuka did the trick.! xx

15 Sep, 2010

Thanks for the advice Grandmage...
Honey daily ...
Conker will enjoy that xxx

15 Sep, 2010

definitly daily-- i used to have ' sinus problems , I could have 6 lots of antibiotics a year without seeing doc. since manuka every day its 18 months and no antibiotics......

15 Sep, 2010

omg terra , you have won ...............10 out of 10................ lol hands down lol
love the lyrics , and the boys joined in with the corus i see xxx

15 Sep, 2010

Good news Pamq, it is marvellous stuff.

15 Sep, 2010

Thanks for the Manuka advice, Pam and Grandmage...

Hi Cristina .. Thanks !
I hope you sang along ..LOL... xxx

15 Sep, 2010

Oh my word that song took me back!!! Conker looks beautiful and so happy, truffle looks a picture to. Garden is looking lovely TT

Doctor bob I think we on here are made of strong stuff!!!! can't see you frightening anybody lol

15 Sep, 2010

Well done Terra on a magnificent blog.. I love it... I wish I had a garden as big as yours!!!!

15 Sep, 2010

Thanks Great and Pipc...
Glad you both like the blog ... :o)

16 Sep, 2010

Need I say it? Fantastic blog again TT. Love the plants. Variegations do brighten the garden on dismal winter days. Lovely to see the boys looking so well. can't stop singing the song now, and having a little giggle at the thought of the boys howling along with you singing. Lol.:o))

16 Sep, 2010

Truffle has very long front paws doesn't he! I never noticeed that before

16 Sep, 2010

Hi Lindalooloo... :o)

Yes, thanks my dogs are looking well ...
...but they don't appreciate my singing... Lol.
You're right about the winter months ...
... the variegated plants really do stand out on the dark days ...

Hi Pip...
People get so used to seeing short-legged Jack Russell Terriers, that the longer legs of a Smooth Fox Terrier come as a bit of a surprise. :o)

16 Sep, 2010

Brill - couldn't join in (probably a good job) got a touch of the bronchitis but a good laugh, enjoyed the pictures especially the dogs they are great. Cheered me up thank you.

16 Sep, 2010

wow.... another great blog TT... sang with you all the way through....

16 Sep, 2010

Thanks Holly...
... wish I could have heard you singing ...
... along with your budgie ;o) x

Oh Oliveoil, sorry you have bronchitis ...! :o(((
That must be draining you of energy ...
I hope you feel better soon...
I'm so glad this blog cheered you up...
... hugs from my dogs... x

16 Sep, 2010

We had a Jack Russell for many years (you might have seen my blog) and he had shortish legs, in fact his front legs were shorter that his back ones!

18 Sep, 2010

Brilliant blog TT, I love that Anthurium. Is that an Erodium growing beneath? Whatever it is, it's a nice combination...

18 Sep, 2010

Thanks Rbtkew ...
Could you please tell me which pic you say has the Anthurium... because I didn't realise I had one of those... Thanks. Lol. :o)

18 Sep, 2010

A bit late catching up on this but worth it. I thought you had found a way of putting 'sound' on this site at first, it looked like one of those e-cards with music at the beginning and I was searching around for the 'play' button. Found I had to supply the singing and soon had the study to myself!
Loved the photos of the garden and the lovely dogs.
I picked up some good ideas and advice i.e. Manuka honey, along the way. Great to read so many enthusiastic responses to your super blog.

19 Sep, 2010

sorry TT, I meant Athyrium! the fern.I really should make sure I'm awake before post a comment! Lol. :o)

19 Sep, 2010

What a great happy and colourful sing a long! Conker and Truffle look so happy, healthy and handsome ;0))

19 Sep, 2010

Sorry to confuse you Simplylyn, with the music ! Glad you were able to supply the singing, and I'm sure you were excellent !
Yes, the Manuka honey is good....
Glad you like the blog so much... :o) x

20 Sep, 2010

Ah, Athyrium, the fern... that explains things, Rbtkew ...
Good of you to comment on my blog before you'd eaten your cornflakes ;o)

Truffle and Conker thank you for your lovely comments, Pansypotter ...
That's good to know you enjoyed the singalong.. :o) x

20 Sep, 2010

I always take a bit of time to sing your blog before scrolling down to look at the comments :o) It's kind of embarrassing!

20 Sep, 2010

Hi Pip..
Wish I could hear your singing ...
...excellent I'm sure...Lol ...
... do your dogs join in ? ;o)

I'm having all kinds of internet connection trouble this week...
... so if I disappear for a while .. you'll know why ! :o(((

22 Sep, 2010

Happy singalong guys! :o))

22 Sep, 2010

Hi Oliveoil...
Are you our leading soprano ? ;o)

22 Sep, 2010

You wouldn't want my voice, but Karensue was a soprano we could get her into the music, mind you don't know if she would know that one, she is only a spring chicken, don't think Cliff was on her hit list.

22 Sep, 2010

Karensue for soprano, then ... Lol...

... and Oliveoil ...
... you and I can stand in the choir ...
... and we'll mime along to the music ;o)

22 Sep, 2010

The dogs couldn't care less Terra - although Franny still likes to type messages to her friends sometimes!
hi to conker and truffle from frances

22 Sep, 2010

I used to have a white toy poodle who sang along to 'Oh for the wings of a dove' if sung in a high voice (he was more in tune than me and I only knew the first bit). The others used to sing along en masse to the Archers theme tune and ice cream vans. Rosie and Meg don't sing, but I'll join the miming chorus if I may?:-))))

23 Sep, 2010

Hi Frances... thanks for the message ;o)

Funny how dogs recognise certain music, isn't it Borna....
... and, yes, you can join in miming the chorus ..

... in fact ...
... maybe that would be a great improvement for the whole Eurovision Song Contest .... everybody mime ! :o)))

23 Sep, 2010

doh ray me doh ray me - thats about it for me, that mime sounds about right too, Eurovision competition here we come, we cannot do any worse! Can I stand at the back though in the choir, don't want to be on the front row. lol. can remember that from a long way back as well. Schooldays ah the memories.

23 Sep, 2010

If we're all miming, I think we would sound better in the dark:-)

23 Sep, 2010

or.....we all sing but wear ear defenders....lol

23 Sep, 2010

... in the dark, miming, and with ear-defenders ...
...that should make it sound-proof ;o)

23 Sep, 2010

LOL :o)

23 Sep, 2010

Well - as long as we're miming - I'll be happy to join in!!!
Our Jenni adores Beethoven's fifth.... because we sing the words 'A meaty bone' to the first twelve bars..... now that's what you call a music-appreciating dog!

23 Sep, 2010

Beethoven was deaf....he would probably have appreciated our Goy choir:-) What a strange person you are Pipkin....... singing to a dog ha:-)

24 Sep, 2010

I've always been strange as you very well know Ba ;o))))))

24 Sep, 2010

True:-)

24 Sep, 2010

Yes lovely pics - you have same choice as me

13 Nov, 2010

Hi Paul ...
I'm pleased you found the Hedgehog Holly :o)

13 Nov, 2010

Yes it and all of them are lovely - your dogs pose well too :D

13 Nov, 2010

Thank you :o)

13 Nov, 2010

I have pleasure in awarding you another Bornagain's Flowerpot, blah blah blah..... you win too many of these, Terra....

19 Nov, 2010

Pipc ~

on behalf of all my variegated plants ...

many thanks indeed.. :o)))
