September

I’m very happy with the colours/flowers I still have at this time in September. I’m determined to be sure and list all the plants I’ve really loved this year and buy more of the same for next year.

Sedum plants are certainly on the list as they look lovely all through summer even before flowering and then they are gorgeous.

Verbena is tall and a bit of a nightmare in a pot on windy days but we manage and the bees love ’em.

This is the first year we’ve had these type of Dahlia but it won’t be the last – they are so popular with the bees and their friends, they queue up to get at them.

these are all bee magnets and single dahlias are much better for the pollinators.

I have them in my garden too.

Really like the image of the bee on the Verbena. It's a lovely sweet-smelling plant.

Great photos Sunnydais. Agree sedums are good value.

Love all of these plants and personally I prefer the single flowered Dahlia rather than any of the others.

Lovely photo's Sunny, three great favourites of mine, anything that lasts well into the autumn is good to me, the bees have certainly made a comeback this year, not many butterflies actually in the garden but the local reserves and railway tracks have certainly had more than in the past few years, we live in hope for next year...

They are all great plants Sunny . . . and I’ve been impressed by how long Penstemons and Salvias have been in flower - still! I’m hoping my cuttings will last for next year . . .
