Look who came into the conservatory today!

He looks content Stera, the worry is if they hurt themselves panicking trying to find a way out, you might have to use the towel or something and pick him up.

I find that wearing rubber gloves helps, makes me less tentative, some birds like young robins don't panic when I pick them upbut had swallows a couple of times in the conservatory and the easiest way was to open the doors and gently guide them towards it...........hope it goes soon for you

I keep a fishing net near-by . If you can get it over the bird you can get it out , usually . ( It is also good for little mices brought in by the felines !)

All I did in the end was leave the door wide open and go away. He found his own way out. When he saw us originally he panicked and started flying into windows so we thought it would be safer to leave well alone and it worked.

Driad, what we used to do for mice was put down a cardboard poster tube closed at one end with some cotton wool and some seed or raisins. In the morning the mouse was often sheltering in there and could be emptied out into the garden!
