They're so useful at this time of year. :-)

Now that's ironic - my 'Alexander' is hardly doing anything!

I missed out a 'u'. Tsk, tsk.

Yes, I think you would. :-)

We were away at our Granddaughter's wedding over the weekend, and came back to find falling scarlet leaves. :-9

I feel a bit like that too, Dd! :-(

I think I got it at a rare plant fair a couple of years ago - it's clumping up nicely. :-))

It has probably reverted...that's one possibility.

Should do, Dd. Pity the flowers hang under the leaves - you have to be a contortionist to see them!

I love Abelias - I planted a new one recently when my previous plant had to come out as it was tangled up with 'that' Spiraea. In fact, I planted two - A. grandiflora and A. g. 'Confetti'. :-0)

Yours is a pretty one, Andrew.

By coincidence, my AG magazine has annual Phlox seeds on the front cover this week! :-))

Thanks, Kathy - it is lovely. :-))

Yes, it was here once the mist cleared.

Phlox paniculata, the tall ones in flower now, are hardy perennials. So are P. divaricata, and the little mossy ones you get in the spring/early summer, but as said above, there are some annual bedding type ones as well.

That photo is deceptive, as it's not really all that close. It was there when we had the garden room built, so we're happy that the roots are well away from the house.

We actually need some rain here, the garden looks thirsty. None forecast atm. though.

You could try some in water - you might be lucky. They'll send out roots from a node.

I leave mine uncut until the spring, as I think it helps to protect the new shoots.

It never ceases to be a pleasure when it all turns scarlet, Dd. Shame it's only for a short while.

I enjoy sitting on my window seat and gazing. :-))
