Hi. Anybody have any idea why one of the flower spikes on my young Lavender Hidcote plant has white flowers on it?

All the other spikes are purple and my other young Hidcotes have all purple spikes.

I am just curious although I would presume any seeds from that spike would produce a shrub with purple flowers.

It has probably reverted...that's one possibility.

or during the development the flower suffered some temp trauma so the pigments didn't develop. reverse of freckles on us :o)
the seeds will probably be true to the whole plant, though variation occurs any way. as this is a named hybrid it wont come true from seed anyway.
