Do you mean 'Clematis', Judita? Two issues: unless you're in the very coldest part of the USA, most Clematis will survive the winter outside in the soil. The caveat is that a few Clematis are not completely hardy. So, to answer you properly, we need to have more information.
On question - How can I preserve my clementis ...
Why? All I do is dry the bulbs off and then restart them in late autumn - nothing clever about that, is there, lol.

Good luck!

No, most of the others have rotted away. I do get two new ones each year. :-)

My H. niger have been trying to flower for a couple of weeks, Ba. This one is new, which explains why it's in flower early.
On photo - Helleborus 'Anna's Red'
Thanks - the flowers hold themselves up, so it's a good Hellebore. They're larger than others I have, too. Can't be bad! :-))

Yes, I was really pleased when it produced a flower stem. :-))

It's a lovely one, and I hope you find one - don't leave it too late, though, as now is the time to find them at the GCs. After Christmas they may not be available...I'd ring round, if I were you.

Best place for it, Sheila, especially with the v.v.v cold winds we've been having.
Haha - I've got a new planting area and I've been having fun at the GC! :-D)
On blog - Are you a Plantaholic?
Are you asking about a Lavatera? If so, yes, half-prune it now and then cut back hard to buds in spring. I lost one through wind rock!
On question - I am new to Rochester
I have this, Andrew, and mine looks wonderful too, except that it has no flowers. :-(
On photo - Fatsia japonica 'Spider'...
Well done indeed, V! :-))

I would move the pot into a sheltered area if possible, and wrap bubble wrap round it - not over the top, of course. (You could mulch over the top, though). Several layers round the pot might protect the root ball. Good luck.
On question - How do I overwinter agapanthus g...
I haven't seen any butterflies for about a week, but yes, quite a lot of insects still.
On photo - The best of the last.
One long-range forecast I read warned it could be, Ba, but another was totally different, so who knows?
On photo - Scabiosa 'Barocca'
It survived last winter, but if it gets really cold, that will 'do'' for it, I'm afraid. :-((

No, you're wise to do that. ;-)

Yes, it's full of flowers, Katarina. :-)
Andrew, 'Lansdowne Gem' is wonderful - cascading down the front wall of the house. I just love it.
Homebird, get one - you won't regret it! These Clems are a joy in the winter and keep going into the spring.
