Happy New Year!

I wish everyone on GoY a good gardening year, and a happier year to come :)

This is our Christmas tree (sorry about the shaky hand)

This lovely Hellebore fell into my basket on my last visit to the GC before lockdown :)

Our hole-in-the-wall ‘log’ fire which keeps us cheerful

‘Trees’ wall sculpture with tinsel

The two together

Keep safe and snug everyone!

Thanks Julia,
We found it in a gas fire showroom! But it was an ideal present to ourselves as we were celebrating our 40th (Ruby) wedding anniversary twelve years ago πŸ™‚.

Happy New Year, Sheila! Best of health to you and your family through the coming months!
The thing I love about winter is having the log burner on in the evenings. It’s so cosy and snug, watching the flames can be quite bewitching. Love your tree wall art!
Keep safe and well x

Thanks Kate, yes watching a blazing fire is quite therapeutic. In our last house we had an open fire and felt it was the best thing about winter! x

Aw, bless you Shirley, thanks. It’s Hellebore Rose of Spring ... I couldn’t resist the mix of white and pink flowers πŸ™‚.

So sorry I haven’t got back to you about the quiz - just being a bit lazy! x

Now that wall feature is amazing, I just love it, and it reminds me of when I worked on a farm when I left school, I love the hymn in the bleak midwinter and the wall art fits this perfectly, so thanks for showing us and may peace be with you for a happy new year.

Yes, Julia, I do usually share some of the clues from the annual Rotary quiz ... usually the ones that I’m stuck on! This year’s is quite difficult, but if you like I will do another blog and you can see what you think.
