sunshine!

We’ve had a lovely afternoon here, the sun came out and was quite warm i decided to cut the grass as rain is forcast for the next few days, got half done then Daughter in law and mother arrived with my 2 grandaughters on the way back to Leeds so i had to stop, had a lovely hour with them then back to the garden, Rian (grandaughter) had planted some sunflower seeds on Friday when we had her for the day and she wanted to take them home and promised Grandma she would water them, they’ll probably drown LOL!!

Hubby had been out and got me a new pair of long handled edge shears for the lawn mine had given up even though hubby had sharpened them they just squashed the grass rather than cut it!! The new ones went through the grass like a knife through butter what a difference! He also got me some weed and feed for the lawn (lawn ha!! more like a cow field) and some green preservative for my shed in green so have got that to paint when i can, want to get it done before the roses climb much more not be able to get to it then.

My friend called round she’d had a row with her husband so was venting her frustration telling me about it LOL, Hubby had a new toy he’s bought himself one of those hedge cutters with a bag attatched and a flat blade (know what i mean?) looks like the starship enterprise in shape LOL! He had a practice with it and its certainly easy to use and no mess to clean up! He hates cutting the hedge, its the only thing he does though!

Well back to normal tomorrow, well nearly, school not back till next monday of course so i get another few lie ins and no pack ups to do Hurrah!!!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, Happy Gardening!

You are lucky, we have not seen any sun here in East Yorkshire for days. Back to work tomorrow, hope next weekend brings some sunshine.

Sounds like you had a busy weekend. Weather very changeable here but was warm enough for the tortoises to enjoy a couple of hours in the garden again.

Some of you have been unlucky with your weather - we have had three days of sun here - it was pretty cold first thing, there was a frost... The clouds rolled in about 6 p.m. and we are forecast rain now.

Our schools don't go back until next week, either. I'm glad you've been able to get things done - very satisfying!
