Looking to the future

My seven year old son said tonight that when he grows up he wants to be the gardener at St Algustines.

What more can I ask. A son who doesn’t want to be a tester of Xbox games.

Last year, talking to one of the waiter/ weeders I was saying to him that to prolong the flowers it was a good idea to dead head them. His indignant response was that, he was quite prepared to dig out a bramble patch, or mow the lawn but it wasn’t ‘Manly’ to mess about with flowers!

Last week the same guy was asking what he could plant at the bottom of his garden. In fact, two of the waiting staff spent their holidays laying decking (all right that could be classed as manly!) But neither the less
FLOWER POWER RULES.

I still cant access the photo’s on this site. Any ideas out there…………..

All true, but I think he is coming round. Toby asked today if the ground is good enough to grow weeds will flowers grow o.k. Plus will grass be alright if the ground underneath is stony!
Slowly but shorely we change attitudes...........
