What a summer!

Summer seems to have pasted me by this year. We’ve been so busy with weddings that I haven’t got into the works garden at all! Replanted the planters once but with the weather being so hot early them so wet later they have suffered badly. The boss did have 14 new ones made to protect the gas pipe from cars driving into it, which I planted with fushias and ivy. But I don’t like them! I’ll take a photo tomorrow so you can all see why!

On more of an upbeat note, I did fore fill a 20 year old ambition, got myself into a canoe, took one out from the beach (once) after finding out I could hire them five minuted down the road. Only to find I had turned up with my wetsuit on back to front and half hour later that I was using the oars back to front!

So now its over, Autumn has set in, I’m thinking of daffadils and collecting up leaves. plus saved the first seeds of the year.
It feels like I’ve spent all summer laying slabs or transplanting calamile into a grass that still looks like a bald man’s attempt at regrowing hair!
Have had some success, the dailias both at work and in the garden at home have been great, the ones the slugs havan’t eaten any way. But now I’ve finished one pond the other has sprung a leek leaving the fish floundering in 6 inches of water.
Need to do some home work on how to fix that! Going to need a week off to do it as well!

This was the nearest Stephen would let me go to a canoe for the school holidays, but at least he took one out as well!

I'm pleased you fulfilled your ambition about the canoe. I hope your wetsuit wasn't too uncomfortable lol - and the oares, well I'm not very good at rowing either :o)
I think the chamomile will look nice after it's filled out ...
