works garden at bed time!

Its the second year that I’ve been doing the works garden!
The budget this year has been really tight, so I havant be able to do all I’ve wanted, but as an late flowering garden its done quite well.

The white lady is looking good in her Autumn finery but nothing has really put on the growth it should have done.
The caster oil plants are only 1/4 the size they should be and none of the Cain’s lily have flowered apart from this green one which I got for a pound in the end of season’s sale at Homebase.
Have just dug out a damp bed so next year I can plant them with their feet damp. The ones at home where done so, are 4ft. tall and magnificent!

This was my one success! Not looking its best here, but I bought 6 dinner plate Dailers from Marchalls, this one got to 5 ft and has been loaded with flowers for ages.

Tomorrow I’ve got to take in the fushias from the car park planters, all 14 if I’m going to have any hope of saving them for next year.

That white Dahlia is gorgeous Sandy, dont forget to bring in the Cana lilies either or you will lose them in the winter. I like the white lady.

Your dahlia`s look lovely Sandy, mine weren`t very successful at all really, huge lush plants with hardly any flowers at all...

Yep, the cana lilies went into poly boxes yesterday packed with dried leave. Just seems everything that's in flower has got to come in!
I like her too, but she has a way of scaring all the relief chef who sneak into the garden after dark for a quick fag!

I love those dahlias. Aren't they magnificent. I remember growing one a few years ago, but the frost killed it.
I hope you can save your fuchsias.

Hi, yes you do have to dig them up before the frost gets them! Worth it though.
