Hi Guys,
back from Tenerife and happy to be home i have to say.
Even though we enjoyed the sun i cant say i will be going back to Tenerife again, it doesnt hold my interest im afraid, but ideal for anyone wanting winter sun to laz away the hours.
Hotel was lovely but to far from main resorts, so we had to get a bus which took an hour or less if trafic permited, so we went for walks down to a new marina but not alot there, still in another few years they will have built a new shopping centre and cafe bars, for now we had to make do with a rocky black cove they called a beach which had two bins falling over and rubbish and rubble, not for the faint hearted haha
anyway we didnt let it spoil our break but never again.
not alot in the way of pics im sorry to tell you as i said to far from any life so had to snap the odd thing that came along lol, im laughing because to me this isnt a holiday, i love to see things and love history and scenery, i dont mind having the odd afternoon sitting in the sun but cant sit all day.
so now im back i was up at 7am, 4 loads of washing, cleaned the house, where does that dust come from lol
taken a bucket load of string algea from the pond so thats a bit cleaner, also iv been looking at whats to be done in the garden, hopefully next weekend i can start that, so here`s a few pics dont get excited now haha, calm yourselves, wait for it,,,, drum roll haha

Dont laugh at me in shorts please, put alot of weight on since no smoking and eating to much to replace the cigs, now i have to start losing it, never had to diet in my life, now im over 50 its all going south fast haha,
Glad to be back even though i enjoyed the rest and sun, hope your all ok and enjoying starting the gardens :o)))

Nice to have you back Sandra - maybe you just missed the garden and Goy too much then :)))) Know what you mean about dust! Hate it and it collects so fast in the sun !!!

Excellent photos - looked nice and warm - bliss:)))))))))) cute little head poking out from the rocks ;))) You look great Sandra !!!

18 Mar, 2012

Good to see you home San, nice to have some time just to a chill a bit though, especially early spring when the sun seems to be so far away. You look great in your shorts! Happy 50th....it's my big one this year, but it starts with a 6 ......:(((((.

Lovely photos San and the second one is very picturesque. I agree with you, it's not exactly a scenic or cultural haven is it? However, for a week of rest and long walks it's fine. I'm looking forward to going on Saturday to Gran Canaria...see if it is any different to Tenerife. Where abouts were you staying San? You would like Cyprus I think....lovely sunshine and a lot more cultural interest! :)

18 Mar, 2012

You don't look anywhere near 50 to me!

18 Mar, 2012

wow to the cacti Sandra...id love to see them...

18 Mar, 2012

Nice to have you back Sandra. Did you take my advice while on holidays ;)
Regarding the weight, were you a twig before?? Looking good girl, and oh yes, nice pics as well :))

18 Mar, 2012

Lovely pics San, I like no.2 especially, glad you had a sort of break and that you feel rested, now no excuse get out in the garden, Lol. lots to do!! ps. love the shorts.

18 Mar, 2012

The pics you have shown are nice San, at least it was a break for you and you didn`t have to rush around to cram it all in, that on its own will set you up for a while.
Rain here for most of today, mustn`t grumble though as we are in desperate need around these parts, the gardens looking quite springlike now which is just the boost we need to draw us outside,
I guess you`ll be doing your pond soon, good job you don`t live around here as it would take a chain gang with buckets to fill it, thinking about that is funny in a cynical kind of way...

Well, I have been working very, very hard getting all the March jobs done in my garden. I am off to Sharm el Sheikh a week tomorrow and the idea of eating, drinking and swimming in a warm climate has kept me going. I think I will cope with the luxury for a week and come back to the April jobs in the garden. :o) Like you Sandra, I find maybe two weeks away from the garden would be too much unless there is a lot to see and places to visit.

18 Mar, 2012

Yes, two weeks away from home is too long for me Linda :)

19 Mar, 2012

wondered where you had been hiding..lol.... glad you had an enjoyable break, hope you get good weather to tackle the garden.. :))

karen iv been to gran canaries, stayed in porta rico there, nice beach and small area with quite a few things to do, but very similar to tenerife, love cyprus been 3 times to fig tree bay, love it, this time stayed at Golf De Sur to far from anything but a rest, hope you enjoy your trip :o))
cheers sticki your so kind :o))
sandra its all cacti there, you would be in cacti heaven lol :o))
Lil haha yes i did lol, i was a twig for many years even though iv always loved eating, started putting it on when 50 and now the cigs have gone put even more on, but far from obese i guess :o)))
Granmage thanxs, that pic was view to left of balcony, to the right was spare land with lots of rubble lol :o))
hi sue thankyou and yes almost time to do my new pond, when a bit warmer for the fishies ;o)) lol chain gang, can picture that.
hi Linda we went to sharm for my 50th and loved it, lovely people, lovely weather and the sea was great, enjoy yourself, they do fuss you over there ;o))Two weeks is to long away for me to Linda.
thanx Holly lol, not hiding haha, cant wait to start tidying garden at weekend i think, been busy since back, feel like i havent been now haha :o))

19 Mar, 2012

Nice to see you back Sandra, nice pictures, but no place like home for our beautiful countryside and Historical sights, Happy Gardening;0)

19 Mar, 2012

Ah, Golf del Sur. We visited there in October...looking for possible holiday homes...absolutely hated it. I'm not surprised you didn't like it. It blows a gale down there as well.....nope, not surprised. That's a pity because you probably saw the worst part of the Island. All that development up by the main road is awful too isn't it? Oh well San....back to Cyprus eh? I fancy Corfu actually, never been there, just a bit tricky going when it's not too hot! :)

19 Mar, 2012

Nice you`re back at least you`ve got your batteries recharged ready to tackle all the springtime jobs in the garden. Loved the pic of the cheeky lizard poking his head out of the cave.

19 Mar, 2012

I think your pics are gorgeous San, my kind of plants lol, Those Cycads in the first pic are to die for..
Sorry you didnt enjoy your hols, me and hub went to Turkey a while ago and hated it, hotel in the mountains, buses everywhere! hated it... At least i hope you have your Mojo back and your weather has changed enough to get stuck into the garden :)

20 Mar, 2012

PS, your slim woman, wish i had your legs hahaha

20 Mar, 2012

Well, the hotel and the weather were good so it could have been worse, San! ... I have no desire to ever return to the Canaries ... places like Playa de las Americas with far too much commercial development going on now ... love the pic of the lizard and you look absolutely fine in your shorts! ... :o)

20 Mar, 2012

your so right carole :o))
karen you would love corfu full of history, loved it there :o))
stroller i waited ages to catch that lizard, so quick lol :o))
lol Dee, im not use to carrying any weight but i cant really complain, at least its not a constant battle like my sister, and i loved all the palmy trees etc, though some there had been battered with the high winds, needed care ;o)
cheers shirley my last time to canaries to, i think myself lucky really to be able to travel and see places as some cant, shorts packed away now unless we have a heatwave lol :o))

20 Mar, 2012

Nice pictures Sandra and love the one with the lizard poking his snout out. Glad you had a nice break but how come four loads of washing. You must have paid excess luggage .

20 Mar, 2012

Lol,Tommy...easy peasy about the washing...whites,coloured,towels and miscellaneous ! :o)

21 Mar, 2012

lol Tommy, 4 loads as i came back to a washer thats on the blink i think, so small loads to keep it going haha, cute lizard isnt it :o))

21 Mar, 2012

Welcome home!

23 Mar, 2012

thanx Meanie, nice to be back and back to lovely spring weather, wonderfull :o)))

24 Mar, 2012

Phew still trying to catch up. Love the legs still, don't know what you're moaning about lol. I take it that these pics cover all that was interesting on your holiday? Still you had the weather and each other and there were some pretty plants:-) I suppose these places have just been built for tourists and have no other history:-(

7 Apr, 2012

lol BA, iv put more weight on since im sure but trying to not eat between meals now haha
and yes these were about it on the picture front, like you say its for tourists to sunbath more or less, not like mainland spain where you get places of interest and history.
but at least we had a break and time out together ;o))

7 Apr, 2012

Pics look great Sandra. I love the Mediterranean but there's nowhere like home. Enjoy your painting. I will be entering a few of my drawings in our local art exhibition again in June.

11 Apr, 2012

i agree with you JB, good luck with the exhibition to, wish i could draw, can sketch for guidance before i paint if i have to haha :o))
