Hi everyone,
we returned from our few days holiday in cornwall on thursday evening, its been a great few days and weather couldnt have been better.
Its a long drive down to cornwall from blackpool, taking about 7 hours with stops and poor Baz does the driving as i dont like motorways.
Anyway we stayed in a lovely guesthouse which was cofy and clean, the couple who ran it were very friendly and helped in anyway they could to make it a nice stay.
We stayed in st austel close to the Eden project, i had oreder tickets from airmiles but they hadnt arrived in time so i paid online and printed them off making it cheaper, anyway no probs.
Cornwall is a lovely area with nice beaches and coves and lovely countryside, we walked alot along the beaches and explored the caves inbeddded into the cliff faces, i could imagine smugglers using the caves years ago, they were facinating to see and the colours in the cave walls were almost shining, amazing really. also lots of rock pools with muscals clinging to the rocks after the tide went out, i love how nature works its magic.
So here are some photos of our trip, hope you enjoy them

I could go on forever with photos as i took about 120 in all hahah so i just chose a few to give you some idea of the size of eden with its gardens of plants and veg, also fruit trees which all go into making the lovely food and cakes you can enjoy while taking a break, it was a great experience to see what they do there and think we can all learn something to go toward helping the planet after seeing it all.
After our lovely few days in cornwall and all the walking we decided to stop half way home so Baz could rest, so we stayed over in Bath, i had always wanted to visit there and this was my chance, with all its lovely stone buildings even the new ones have to be made in stone as not to spoil what Bath is known for, i myself think this is a great idea and think traditional places should stay as they were, modern ways can spoil things at times.
while there we walked around the town where they have layed a grass area in the shopping centre with deck chairs which looks great, being such a built up city and not many houses seem to have garden, they have beautifull park areas and a huge central park called royal victoria park which is stunning.
It was such a hot day and people were all out sitting and enjoying they lunch breals in the sun and taking their dogs and children out, we collected conkers lol to bring home to scare the spiders away hahaha
So here are a few pics of Bath for you, hope you have enjoyed my holiday as much as i did being there.
nice to come home and be able to spend time in my garden, isnt life wonderfull :o))) x

hi paul and thanx, i love the fly and that robot was amazing but also made you think about all elecricall equipment and what happens to it when we discard it, mountains of rubble but hopefully now alot of the parts go to be recycled, scarey though, think you would enjoy Bath paul, seems to take you back in time ;o))
cheers sandra if you ever get the chance to visit Bath you must, but addvice is take the tour bus when there so much walking and not flat lol :o)
hi karen glad it brought back memories for you, we didnt get to see heligan just wasnt time but enjoyed what i saw, thanx :o))
lol lulu i would be happy going in horse and cart anywhere rather than on a motorway, baz drives pretty fast but he has slowed it down now he realises i cant cope with it ;o)
ho Dotty thought you would have been, wont be as far for you will it, i loved the deck chairs, by the time we walked back that way they were all over, not regimental, more relaxed, everyone enjoying themselves, like on the beach lol :o)
thanx homebird, yes we went it the cooling station hahah, it was so hot outside as well as inside the tropical house, and walking uphill so to speak i got a bit faint then saw that, it was heaven, so cool lol, :o)

Hi Sandra, so glad you enjoyed your holiday and what great weather too:-) I'm trying to catch up a bit on GOY (impossible task) and yes, I have enjoyed your holiday and will be looking at part two when I can. I do agree with Pimpernel about the wonderful park planting in Bath...beautiful. Not something you'd want in your back garden, but so regal and formal in the right setting, something you don't see so often now:-)

20 Oct, 2011

I am pleased to hear that you had a nice holiday in Cornwall (with a few Cornish Creams Teas?, very good for diet!!!). I returned a couple of weeks ago from Kynance Cove where I had a wonderful time and I completely agree with Sandra, The Lost Garden of Heligan (in particular the Jungle) is a must to see. I put some pictures of Heligan and Kynance Cove on my blog. Bath is a beautiful city, I have been there a few times and love it. Like the pictures.
