path project

Is this going to be a formal path or just a service one?
I use the output from a garden shredder to make a service path. By the following year, it just needs topping up with a new batch

my hedge is just begnning to look like a hedge and in there are some of the tallest 'trees' i have got, we planted 400 of them.
i get stones which are deemed rubbish by a stonemason up the road, he gave me permission to go get what i wanted, he throws his offcuts down a hill! and we get stones when we go walking in the mountains, bringing back a carload full.
other than that it's bits of rooftiles, an old neighbour gave us all her old tiles when she renewed her roof, we used them to line channels for the rainwater to stop the summer storms/rains flooding all our precious grass seeds down the hill, after we seeded our patch of land.
somewhere on GOY i saw a photo of a path or maybe even a herb garden design, which used lots of terracotta shards, which i thought looked brilliant, i want to use the tiles we have left, to pull the path together.
looking at this explanation it seems like alot of effort for what is in effect only a small shortcut, but it might just come out as i visualize it....here's hoping.
