Yes to Sisyrinchium and it could well be striatum.

Sisyrinchium self seeds very easily, have you noticed any seedlings nearby? if not once it goes to seed scatter in a prefered area of the garden, if you dop have any seedlings then you could plant them in a lovely pot, they do very well potted up.

Thanks for the tip Julien I have noticed seedlings nearby but didn't realise they were of the same plant......in spite of the fact they look like it....no brains me:-)

I'll have a look at Andrewr's garden Shirley, it must have an easier name than Sisyrinchium doesn't it?
