United Kingdom

i have a patch where i grow various veg like peas ,carrots, beans and so on do i need to dig garden lime into the soil

Answers

No, leave the lime until 2 or 3 weeks before sowing.
It will only leach away in the next rainfall.
Welcome to GOY by the way.

Lime is usually used for Brassicas (cabbage family). Dig in compost instead.
