which sand or soil type should i store root vegetables in

United Kingdom

does it matter what type of sand or can i use top soil to store vegetables

Answers

Use sharp sand for beetroot, if you have potatoes they are best kept in a cardboard box, rather than a sack. Carrots and parsnips are best left in the soil outside, fork between the rows to loosen the soil and let drain surplus water. Watch out for mice.
