Mahonia japonica Mahonia x media

Hi Alexandre, there are several varieties of japonica, and as a general rule they tend to be larger shrubs and the leaves tend to turn red when cold, and the flowers usually small developing to black berries. Media on the other hand doesnt tend to turn red leaved and the yellow flowers are a lot more majestic and hang on through the winter for longer. Does that help.
