My pears are finally ripe and boy are they good ripe from the tree. I still don't know what kind they are. Any ideas?

I think it may be 'COMMIS' but I am not too sure.

It looks like a William to me, go onto The East Melling research lab website in Kent they will give you the right name.

Harli, I wish you could see this - I have a little pear on my mouse mat, gazing up at the pic of yours.

They look very similar! Except that my 7 yr old kindly picked it too early today (there's me, thinking none of the children had spotted my only TWO prized pears. sigh.)
Mine are Comice, so I think that's quite likely for yours too. Dr Bob's suggestion is good.

Thank you, I have narrowed it down to Comice or Bartlett and will check out Bobs site.
Tell your 7 yr old all is not lost. Close them in a brown paper bag with a piece of ripe fruit such as a banana, apple etc. and they will ripen in 2-3 days and be just as sweet.

Sorry Harli, my fingers don't know what they are doing, it should be The East Malling Research Centre.

Thank you Dr. Bob. I had a blog a couple weeks ago about how people came up with their user ID's. I got mine from a book and wanted to name my little girl Harli, but I had two sons. So anyway I just used it on eBay and it stuck and most my friends call me that. And I'm a girl. What about yours?
