Bay Trees

I have 2 potted bay trees at the back door which are hoaching with flies, wasps and ants. Is there anything I can do to deter insects?

Try giving it a strong hosing down to wash off the Aphids that are most likely cause of attraction. The underside of the leaves probably shields them the goo falls on the leaf surface beneath.
