Our fig tree has almost finished fruiting .. there are a lot of small green young ones , I have read somewhere that you should take those off now , but someone else told me that if you do that you wont have any fruit next year , who is right , help please ,

You should remove all fruit except tiny ones, these will develop for next year. In native places this will produce 3 crops per year, but we are too far north, so only get one crop. Older but small fruit will not grow and ripen and wastes energy.
