pick it, hang it,dry it,smoke it - - - dont sell it !

My father tried this in the '50's so I've got to go back a long way to remember ;-(
He used to pick the individual leaves, make a small hole in the stem end of the leaf and thread them on a string. These were strung up outdoors at first then brought into the house later. When he was satisfied that they were sufficiently dry he would put them in a press and compact them. He used the product as pipe tobacco.
He did this for just a year or two before stopping growing the tobacco.

Surely there's a far more interesting plant to grow, dry and smoke than tobacco!!!! OoooooI forgot that's illegal as well. I should think folk got fed up with the pong of home grown shag Bulbaholic
