Cats and dogs in Aberdeen! Looks like the weather forecast was right for a change!

Not heavy, but very damp and dreary, Kath. The heaviest rain is forecast for Friday.

29 Sep, 2010

It is affecting most of the country, Scotkat, and there are warnings of flooding - again!

Hi, Solid rain all night last night here in Devon, has stopped now 11.30.

29 Sep, 2010

Well it's 12.20pm here now in Reading, and I've been up since 6 and there hasn't been a single drop here yet! Forecast was rain ALL day!

29 Sep, 2010

Time 12.42. It is dry and sunny at the moment here. I have just received a call from a friend on holidays in Cyprus asking me about the weather. He said down there, is sunny and very hot.

Well looks as if we are all rained off and its still chucking it down in Angus.

29 Sep, 2010

Chucking it down here too in Merseyside. I'm cheering myself up as I type by looking out the lounge window to a most gorgeous tree across the road. It is full of red berries, a home to the pigeons as they rear their young and it's turning to fall colours now....from the top downwards. I've never noticed that about a tree before....is that common?....changing colour from the top downwards? Just curious.

Yep, wellie weather has arrived me thinks!

29 Sep, 2010

It's persisting down in Derby and windy as well.:o(

We had rain all day yesterday in Cornwall, and heavy rain overnight as well. Today is better than expected as the sun's out.

29 Sep, 2010

Well, here in West London rain all day forecast - some drizzle early morning, then nothing till about 20 minutes ago, when we got a few spits and spats, stopped again (2.30 p.m)

29 Sep, 2010

cold, we & windy here in the east midlands and I Still can't get the washing dry--- hope you are right about a better day tomorrow!!

29 Sep, 2010

drizzly and mild here (north east essex). local forecast gives hopefully better tomorrow

29 Sep, 2010

I spoke too soon - its pretty wet here now, but its not heavy, just persistent, like the sky is gently weeping...

29 Sep, 2010

Time is 4.25pm. Light rain where I am now. I mentioned earlier sunshine. It only lasted for a few minutes. I always follow the weather forecast on a German satellite site and I find it to be very accurate.

The heavens have just opened here in South Yorks its 16.30pm its very dark
and really, really miserable.. ugh..

29 Sep, 2010

Yeah......

29 Sep, 2010

The rain stopped earlier this afternoon and so far...fingers crossed...no more has fallen since. If I look really hard I can just see a glimmer of blue sky amongst the clouds too! Honest...I'm not imagining it...and it's 5.15pm here.

Once had a holiday in Cornwall (many years ago now). "I think its getting brighter".....it didn't, until we headed back to Worcestershire a week later tent packed soaking wet :-) Ah, the memories.....

29 Sep, 2010

I had one of those as well, Fractal - one week in Penzance, the other in St. Austell, never stopped raining the whole time, gave up by middle of second week, still raining when we got home...

29 Sep, 2010

The REALLY worst thing about the weather in Cornwall is when you have a county full of holiday makers all expecting and hoping to have a nice time, and it rains, drizzles or is cold and overcast when it's gorgeous, baking, unbroken sunshine wherever their home is. That happens particularly often in July and August.....

29 Sep, 2010

It cleared up here at about 3.00, and we saw some glimpses of sun. I actually managed to plant a few more bulbs!

29 Sep, 2010

Well Beattie, on the up side, I've also had some mixed bag holidays in Cornwall, and one fortnighter where the sun never stopped shining the whole time - came back with no hard skin anywhere on my feet (burnt off by hot sand) and so brown most people didn't recognise me.
Your rain has reached us, Spritz, its been really wet here since about 3.30...

29 Sep, 2010

That got to you fast! Please keep it, or send it east - we don't want it back, thanks.

29 Sep, 2010

Ditto Spritzhenry!

29 Sep, 2010

It was dark enough here at 5.pm last night to need the lights as the rain was so heavy and now 7.30 am its 5 degrees and thick fog...........

30 Sep, 2010

Dont like fog and dark and heavy rain when driving Pam.

30 Sep, 2010

I'm happy for the rain, we are now just 2mm short of what we would expect in a 'normal' year up to the end of September, we had 20mm yesterday, second wettest day of the year - water butt almost full, it was completely empty in early July after 5 very dry months.

30 Sep, 2010

agreed Scotkat, we went out for the evening and it was raining hard and on the way home as went near the river-- we cross it a few times as it winds a lot-- it was very foggy and dark too--- where did the lovely soft septembers go?
last night felt like november!!

30 Sep, 2010

Thank you Pam. We're just back home after a nice afternoon (forgot my camera though...grrr!!) and had a great lunch (even got mine for free...along with a chocolate birthday cake as it's their policy if you can prove it is your birthday). Totally unexpected so was a great surprise...and delicious.

The sun stayed out but energy left us after our lunch so garden centre is for another day.

It's been a lovely birthday :) and also received a beautiful pot containing a camellia 'Narumi-Gata' from my lovely friend...(pink buds open to lightly scented single small white flowers in late autumn. Will try and post a photo later.

30 Sep, 2010
