My Cordyline australis has just started losing all its leaves in the last week and looks as it has been flattened at the top. It has just flowered and appears to be rotting from the top. Even the green leaves in the centre are falling out. Should I cut them all off and part of the trunk or will doing that kill it completely.

If the trunk is rotting, you may have to cut it down and hope that it shoots from the base instead. Interesting survival technique, throwing out a flower hoping it'll seed just before it keels over - I think a fair number have done this this year.
