The white echinacea in my garden don't grow as tall as the purpurea... first white plant I had I put it in the middle of the bed...It disappeared when the season progressed...lol. OOOPs!

Mine aren't as tall or as hardy either.

mine did pretty good....lasted three years...then disappeared...

yes...but the regular echinacea is still there doing well every year with little or no care!! There is a real case for protecting species with all the tinkering that's going on with our food plants and garden plants...won't be long til half the worlds crops require roundup to survive. Just watched a dvd of a documentary on Big Green...Monsanto... scarey stuff!

That really is food for thought Lori . Must admit I've never given it much thought, I will have to check it out.
