Litoria infrafrenata (Litoria infrafrenata)

Largest green tree frog .The frogmouth bird has a habit of swooping down in the night and plucking this frog from its sleeping spot. It then flies into a tall tree where it holds the frogs legs in its large beak and beats it to death, maybe thats a tenderising trick. .THATS NATURE.

I love frogs a lot , they are thr barometers of a healthy environment , the more the better.

Actually Pitta - when we first moved out here we'd look for them and could hardly find any. Lots of cane toads ... but few green frogs. Now it's a different story - we had a very decent 'wet' at the beginning of this year and they've come back in droves. There's around ten of them sleeping around the top of the verandah walls right now.

A very handsome frog and we try our best to protect all frogs. The pest "Bufo marinus" has reduced in numbers of latter years, 25 years ago you could not walk in the yard at night for cane tods there were hundreds but now you see maybe 20 in the same area, they are spreading so far throughout Australia now , they are into Kakadu national park in the N.T.
