Hi Folks, Gardener’s World was back again for a short half hour yesterday. The team were at RHS Tatton Park Flower Show, if any of you are visiting over the weekend I hope you have a great time.

Toby took a quick look around some of the gardens, picking out:
Milium effusum (Millet) – Fox tails with seeds that birds love.

Carol and Toby did a little piece about hardy and tender perennials. Toby took us through some hardy perennials:
Ligularia dentata ‘Britt-Marie Crawford’ – Good for soil that’s wet in summer
Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’ – Fiery flowers
Geranium ‘Mavis Simpson’

And Carol introduced some tender perennials:
Salvia x jamensis ‘Hot Lips’ – Mixed white and bright red flowers
Salvia discolor – Black flowers
Monarda punctata
Pelargonium ‘Scarlet Pet’

Following on from Carol’s tender perennials we saw a piece about a nursery called Fir Tree Pelargoniums
Pelargonium odoratissimum ‘Paisley Red’
Pelargonium fulgidum ‘Gartendirektor Herman’
Pelargonium pseudoglutinosum ‘Quantock Angelique’

Carol had a final quick look around the gardens and mentioned a Verbena for growing in containers.
Verbena stricta ‘Temari Coral Pink’

Hope you all have a great weekend, and happy gardening :o)
