This is a genus of about 300 species of annuals and perennials. It is easy to confuse this hardy variety with a different genus – Pelargonium – which is frost tender but often given the same common name ‘Cranesbill’.
Found everywhere but in very wet locations, the leaves of this plant are often aromatic, interestingly marked and textured. The foliage comes in shades of green even shading to blackish-purple! The flowers are found in white, pink, purple or blue.
These are long lasting, versatile, rabbit proof and easy to look after so anyone can give them a go!

They are lovely Andrew. Ever since I started creating my garden I've wanted some perennial geraneums and have not found any in Hungary. well not when I've been able to buy them. They do grow here but I think they are not so popular.

Take off the brown leaves, repot them and give them a little feed , they sound a bit starved to me ,though pelargoniums do not need too much feed or they just produce a lot of leaves and not so many flowers, I find.

Can you see any bugs? If so, give them a spray. Where have you got them? Are they in the greenhouse? They may have been scorched by the sun. Too much watering would possibly have the effect of stem rot, they prefer to be a little on the dry side.

Nice photo. I love this geranium too. They bloom heavily and for a long time if regularly deadheaded, and blooms in dry shade, not many plants out there that will produce for you under these conditions. It's a great addition to anyone's shade garden.!

thanks, it is a bit different is'nt it, i bought this one off ebay last year, i had never seen it growing until now, and it is a lovely plant, would defo recommend it if you need a good gap filler - but i suspect it is going to be a bit of a thug, so you never know i might even be offering some free cuttings/root divisions in the near future!
