at last ive finished my orangutan picture

ive just had it framed which always realy makes the picture look much better.i love the double inlay or seround.my framer is very reasnable this only cost £25 made to measure and its 29″ × 22″ . i think thats very reasnable myself.im getting quite a collection of pictures . maybe i can have an exerbition.

i add libbed with the leaves in the background as i thaught they looked better than the background in the picture .i chose the frame but left the cardboard inserts to my framer as he knows what hes doing normaly.

i hope you enjoy the picture happy gardening take care bye for now.

It's looking brilliant now Leigh. I like the orange colour of the insert and it's a nice frame. Your right, you should have an auction, you'll sell this one in no time. It's a pity I've not got a place to put it lol ! Do you have a lot of pictures to put in an auction?

Leigh, it is a fantastic painting. Its obvious that you love the animals, it comes through. Your talent definitely deserves wide recognition. You are quite widely known by now though aren't you?
I love Orangs too, Gorilla's as well. They're so closely related to us aren't they? But better!

15 Apr, 2010

I understand you Noseypotter, as I occationally paint too, I always am looking for faults in mine, we are our own crytics, no big headedness about it.

15 Apr, 2010

yes mad they are close to us and better apart from chimps which are more like us in there violance and actions .ive got a silverback picture for sale if your interested mad . ill thow in a tiger print and give some of the money for charity as i always do .i dont know if im quite well known but i guess a lot of people know just because of all the pictures i send everyone.i think i must have sold a few hundred pictures since 1993-4 when i started taking my art seriously again so thats 300 and who ever sore thows pictures.yes sixpence you do have to be your own best crytic and i ask people when they sign my guest book to be honest but they have all been good comments so far .when i was younger i had a tendancy to say that will do which i never do.i always take a long time to get the outline right as once thats done the rest falls into place like your first row of bricks if you were building a wall .i use pencils so what do you paint sixpence.i like portraits if you hadnt noticed lol.anyway thanx again ill stop running on bye for now .

15 Apr, 2010

I have noticed Noseypotter you like portraits, my mother painted a few portraits one was the Mona Lisa, I started with learning with Bob Ross dvds then done one of my own, of landscapes so far, I have done a couple of mountains too, which you use the knife for to out line, prior to that, I have have done pencil and gel pen drawings, of all sorts. Painters are never satisfied with their own work lol. I do have a good eye and ear lol, and will tell the truth even if it hurts I have left comments on your web page a while ago.

Judging by what I see in art shop windows round here, I recon you could get at least a couple of hundred for this NP.....have you ever approached an art shop to sell your work?

26 Apr, 2010

know sid they look one look at me and dont want to know.on the internet or people who know me is another thing and i often sell them for more than that . im in know rush , money isnt everything and it only slips through my fingers anyway lol .if you look at some art for thousands on the internet its unbelievable what people will pay for what i consider rubbish.i always say if someone doesnt like the picture i drew of there pet they can just give it back to me no hard fealings .touch wood ie my head it has never happend yet lol .thanx a lot sid take care bye for now xx .

I'd be amazed if a serious art shop would not take your work NP.....their loss!!!

26 Apr, 2010

well i thaught that till i tried . i am heavily tattood so i must be a thug and a lyer and not to deal with it seams . ive actualy had almost a heated argument with someone saying to my face that a person like me could not of drawn a picture of the caliber of my art .honestly .like you say there loss.i got know time for shallow perpousfly nieve people so in that respect i love my tattoos.its a sad old world .

That's a disgrace that people can be so prejudiced. Could you maybe get one of your non-tattooed friends to go on your behalf ...and then when your drawing sells you could turn up in person to collect the cheque?!!!

26 Apr, 2010

i do that all the time lol you got to go with what you got and i like a laugh lol .people will be people lol xx

26 Apr, 2010

OMG! I really love your painting! Iv'e just popped in to say about the tree in my avatar is in the gardens at Wallington Hall near Morpeth in Northumberland. I'm a natural born tree hugger-just love them! But about your paintings..You are so talented...you must never be disheartened by the shameful ignorance of the minority, a talent like yours is a gift and to be so good to share it with others means we are the priviledged ones. They are most definately the losers! You really should do an exhibition of your work, it's beautiful.

thank you daisy i do try but they always get sold before i get any amount together.just recently i managed to have 3 pictures unsold for the first time ever and thaught exhibition .it wasnt very long lived though lol .you see im terrible with money to . a woman whos very nice on here nicknamed mad baught 1 of them.it was a silver back . the other ones i have now are a baby orangutan and this orangutan with her baby . i cant realy have an excerbition with 2 pictures lol but thanx anyway . i am entering the orangutans into a local open art competition though if ive still got them . ive just done a blog on a finished piece ive done for skillen of a scotish deer hound shes getting for her friend . im very pleased with it .i love that tree i guess im a bit of a tree hugger . id love a boabab trees .theres a famous one in africa thats been hollowed out bye elephants in its time as there quite soft wood . this one is so big its actualy a full running pub with bar, seats and even a celler . my friend who lives over the back from me has about 60 bonsoi trees . infact i got to know him bye seeing his trees and going round being the nosey person i am .he suffers from excuse my spelling skitofrenia but hes ever so clever and knows loads about trees . i keep trying to get him to come on goy but he sais he cant handle it bless him .he sits in his house day in day out know tv or anything and grows the most beautifull trees.im broad shoulderd and i do take what people say with a pinch of salt infact its quite funny sometimes but it does hold me back.i think because im basicly self taught it also holds me back not having qualifacations . thats one of the main reasens i come on here and definatly the reasen i put my art on here as most people are polite enough to say nothing or tell the truthe and its generaly good what people say.i think the site and most of the people are great and realy in life thats about as good as it gets.anyway thanx again daisy ill stop boring you take care bye for now xx.
