Visit to Pan global rare plant centre.

We set off today with 2 places in mind to visit. Firstly the Aquatic centre to buy a few Aquatic plants for the newly refashioned pool and secondly The Pan global rare plant centre.

Situated at Frampton on Severn in the beautiful Severn valley of Gloucestershire.
Owned by Nick Macer,a well known plantsman/ plant explorer.The words ’unusual’and ‘rare’ in the true sense.
He was a school dropout,bright but bored.A few years of unprepared ‘finding his feet’ allowed him to realise that a life outside working with plants seemed a very good idea.He also had a deep obsession with trees.
Over the years Nick has travelled extensively to botanise across the temperate world,having visited 25 countries.
The centre is within a walled garden of the original house.

The above photos show huge Agaves and grasses.

Couldn’t come away without buying at least one plant…such a different atmosphere walking around compared with the large GCs.Will certainly return.

It’s definitely a different type of gardening, looks very lush and certainly interesting, Julia. I’m not surprised you bought something. Plus, what a lovely job Nick has, travelling and gardening!
