The trees surrounding the lake caught our attention today….there was a moderate breeze which was blowing the fresh Weeping Willow foliage in an attractive way.The tree blossom was still intact.

Blackthorn tree blossom.

We called into Speech house, nestled in the Royal Forest of Dean..a 17th century hunting lodge. The conservatory is very new and comfortable. We were served with a .pot of tea and shared teacake on a ‘silver’ tray!

The menu was particularly attractive depicting Bluebell time in the forest.

This stone planter outside looked so Springlike.

The last photo shows one of many Blackthorn trees dotted through the forest.

Last photo shows my son’s wildlife pond….the Pine and Holly trees are so attractive…just before Christmas the Holly tree is smothered with berries.

Do you think Spring might be springing Meadow? Do we dare hope? I like your son's pond very much. We noticed the blackthorn too when out and about in the car.

Doesn't feel like it here...I'm afraid to plant anything out...thank you Ange for your kind comment...he is a more relaxed gardener than me.

I agree with Hywel! It looks like a lovely place & I particularly liked the Bluebell photo on the menu! The trees that flower in spring are one of my delights & you can find me out & about taking photos of them!

There are several streets that were built way back, probably just after the ll WW ended & about the time of the Queen's coronation as some of the streets have names that remind you of that time - though I suppose it's possible that they could be earlier, for her father's coronation? Anyway one is called 'Coronation Avenue', another is called 'Queen's Drive' & there are many flowering trees in these streets.
